Had the writeup all done and my computer decided to shut down and failed to back up my files so writeup gone. Figured it was more important people know about the noon start than who their top scorers are.
I honestly don't think Ron is incompetent. I may have joked about it before, and I've always loved the "business" gag.
But really, I've never seen him do anything egregiously incompetent. Maybe someone on his crew, but never him specifically. I think because of Ron's connection to that one call in an NC State game, he has become a punchline of sorts.
Whit's jumping the gun on Fuente cost VT hiring Kelly. Way to go Whit...

And DeSean Jackson is just a little faster than...well, just about every receiver in the world. If he's a 4.52, he doesn't get a sniff of the NFL.
And he's injured a lot.
Thanks! Gonna watch during lunch!
Well he is eligible for one so it wouldn't be whether he could get one but whether he would be given one by the coaches. My thoughts are that unless he's the starter, Fuente will redshirt him and have whoever doesn't win between Evans and Motley be the backup.
Motley was putting up Deshaun Watson numbers, but had a couple of really bad games, Pitt, ECU, and that start against Miami. Although the Pitt game was more on the O line, and ECU on the defense, he needs to be consistent to takeover the starting role. I'm a big fan of him, great arm, mobile, tough, he's got the skill set.
Party!
well...this is awkward
I increased my level for 2015 from Hokie to Bronze, mainly because I moved from PA to DC, so I'm a little closer to make it to Blacksburg for games. It was too tough to drive 6 hours per weekend, but 4 is doable.
Maybe this is a good place to ask...but is Ron Cherry actually incompetent?
I know he's kind of goofy in his delivery of calls, but after watching the last couple of seasons, I've come to realize that he's about the only ACC ref I like seeing in a game. I don't recall many instances where it felt like he was "giving us the business", moreso than any other ref. Even that call against Dadi for hitting him, it felt like to me that he didn't want to necessarily through the flag on that, because he understood the emotion, but he was forced to as part of his job -- which is probably why he didn't eject him right then and there.
Also thinking back, he does try to be as clear and specific in his calls as he can. I just don't think the right words always come to him. He does tend to repeat himself sometimes, but it all appears to be in the interest in making sure everything gets communicated in the call. And yes, his movements are often exaggerated, but that's also because he's one man on a field that is being watched by thousands of people in the stands. Again...clarity. For instance, go back and look at the one point safety in the 2013 Fiesta Bowl (Oregon vs. K-State). Is there any confusion after Ron announces the call?
A few interesting theories have Rey as a second Anakin, similar to how Jesus was considered the second Adam. Therefore, as a second Anakin, Rey would be in place to restore balance to the force where there is seemingly an imbalance once again. This would suggest that the force cannot be permanently in balance and that there may be a series of "chosen ones." Although if you watched the original trilogy in a vacuum it would suggest that the force is perfectly in balance once the sith were finally defeated in Return of the Jedi. Certainly an interesting theory but there are so many poorly explained things, or situations over complicated by implications Lucas made in the prequels that it's hard to pinpoint why things are the way they are. Very different from a Harry Potter, or especially Tolkien universe where everything is very thoroughly explained.
Yep. Shouldn't be too long now. Honestly, if we haven't named a position coach by now it's pretty likely that they're coming from Memphis. If Shane had an on-field spot he'd be announced by now.
I increased.
It's a new year, new coach, and 30 some odd days to NSD. Anything can happen. Anything.
I agree, wasn't he's highly rated 3 star that came down to us and Nebraska?
I joined the day after the Fuente hire.
I joined to show my approval of the hires recently, but I also hope it helps with season tickets years from now if I explore that option. Can anyone share how it helps, and if it does, do I need to toggle anything in my account today to help me later on down the road?
Captain Houston also had a nice message for Frank in one of the Thank You Beamer videos
Whoa, I asked on TSL why he wasn't getting any PT since he was a highly rated recruit and got no answer. I guess now I might know. Has he been hurt of got hurt in practice?
i agree. Really hope that is not the case.
If related to anyone I am pulling for Obiwan
Vince Houston's gonna come kick your ass for calling him Mike London.
2 out 3 10-win seasons. Surprised that wasn't good enough to buy him an extra year. I'm not sure if his system works or not, but it seem like he didn't have enough time to fully integrate it.
Absolutely, there are way to many know it all's that post that kind of crap and have no clue about football.
I didn't know that Whit was able to reverse that trend but that is good. I tried searching Google last night but I couldn't find anything that said anything but the numbers were dropping.

There's probably more to the story.
