Exactly! It wasn't so much that Bucky couldn't get the job done, just that Tulsa figured out how to stop the big fella. To me it was effective inasmuch that we got 7 pts from it, and it also gave Tulsa something else to worry about and account for. True it might have only been had a definite impact a time or two, but you also have to keep in mind that it kept Tulsa on their toes.
I would love it if Motley could win the job. I just hope that if he does, the fan base doesn't breathe down his neck with talk of Evans or Lawson.
I've cheered for Deangelo all through college and the pros. He's a freak athlete and ultimate competitor (that admittedly can do stupid things on the field). He catches way too much heat for that '03 year. There is a reason Bud changed his defensive philosophy after that season.
Ford isn't leaving after his junior year. He needs to put on a minimum of 15lbs of muscle before he goes to the NFL. He's too thin. He's the best receiver in Virginia Tech history but there are many wide receivers in college that are much better.
I'm not a hater... I love Isaiah Ford... but I'd bet the farm on him staying through his senior year.
Everyone is quick to forget Carson Lydon. He has potentential and bud was raving about him in the spring.
I didn't know it was either but I have a friend from Radford (the city) who is an Air Force MP, but eventually wants to get a degree and be a police officer somewhere. He really wants to go to Tech, so a few months ago I was helping him with some research on doing that.

well...he didn't. He played pretty sparingly after his score because of injury. Coleman and Edmunds got a bulk of the work I think

That would be like running a jet sweep 3 or 4 times and having it go for 13 yards and a TD once and get stopped for no gain or a loss the other 2 or 3 times. Would you call that pretty darn effective?
Maybe "pretty darn effective" is too much? ...but he still averaged 5.4 ypc and scored a TD so I'll drop it down to pretty effective.

FYI, Todd McShay just projected Kendall to go to the Colts at 21 in his Mock 1.0 (ESPN Insider req). So looks like Kendall is still considered pretty highly even with the injury.
Anakin was conceived through the will of the Force. He has no father.
It has nothing to do with the crown, it's the targeting point. You can't target the head and neck area, which he did. This wasn't a case of a running back lowering his helmet to waste level, his midsection was fully exposed for a good form tackle and yet the defender went high.
I will say again that I'm not a huge fan of the rule, but this tackle broke that rule. And the replay has little room for discretion. The replay was basically put in place to overturn an illusion or egregious call. If contact is clearly made in that no-no zone, it won't be overturned.

I have a different theory. Rey is a descendant of Anakin's father. There's no real evidence that the force is strong with Anakin's mother, so thats why I'm going this route. We know NOTHING about the Skywalker line after Anakin, but seems to me its possible that Anakin has siblings or half-siblings.
I think he will have a legitimate shot at competing especially having the experience starting 6 games. I'm sure he's learned a lot.
And Hodges was pretty darn effective in that role.

I disagree with this. He'll have the chance. He'll have an opportunity to compete. Statements like this bother me because we just don't know enough about the situation to deal with absolutes. Will he make the most of his opportunity? Perhaps not. If you don't think so, that's fine. But don't just say he doesn't even have a chance. That's ridiculous.
Except JJ Abrams isn't directing the next one....
I hope his surgery goes well myself but Motley will not have a chance to put his stamp on the program. It's between Evans and Lawson. Motley never threw for 1,000 yards in high school. I would love to see a hometown kid tear it up at QB for us but he doesn't have near the level of talent that Evans and Lawson possess.
We should be running the wildcat turkey with Hodges all the time. Shades of Greg Boone.

First response to a concussion is put them in a dark room and make sure the individual doesn't go to sleep. There may have been a better option, but it certainly wasn't a punishment.

Andrew Ford was the next coming too just a few years ago. In the span of 6 months we have went from the QB of the future being Lawson, then Jackson, and now Evans. The newest signee/recruit will always be considered the best, even though very few (in some cases above zero) have seen any of them play in person with D1 competition against them.
