There's a chance that the Stroman injury was somewhat strategic very late in the game. But I don't think there is enough evidence to make this worth discussing. Additionally, I am very against the idea that all injuries now are to slow down fast-paced offenses. It's a physical game and people get hurt. I got to watch Clemson fans boo opposing team's injuries for 4 straight years EVERY. SINGLE. TIME. because they were "just trying to slow down our offense!"
Go hang out with Andy Bitter and Mike Barber they are stuck there also. Seeing on Twitter Hokie beat writers and fans are stuck in Dallas, Atlanta, Shreveport and other places in between.
We can discuss this but some information that would be helpful. When did this occur? Did a player then have an injury? A video of this happening.
Bud was doing a lot of frantic signaling throughout most of the game. The camera caught him clearly yelling at guys about their positioning ("get inside!" was very obvious near the end of the game, right as Tulsa approached the goal line). The only questionably timed injury that I saw was Stroman, late in the game. But he got up slowly and looked legitimately cramped, as would be expected when facing a high-paced offense like Tulsa's. Otherwise, he deserves a heck of an acting award.
I did not notice any other questionable injuries and I think it would be really out of character for Bud to do this.

Seems like you have to have 9+ wins to have a player considered for a National Award now. Still kind of shocking that Erick Green won ACC POTY when VT was at the very bottom of the ACC that year.
I just have to imagine that Phillips is going to have a breakout year next season. I predict a lot of teams to key on Ford which I hope will open things up for Phillips.
I love Brewer. He will go down in Hokie History as one of my favorites to suit up in the O&M. I believe that he threw an interception in every single game he won. The only games Brewer managed not to throw the ball to the other team ended in losses if I'm not mistaken. I've been using that stat for a while now. After he threw that pick against Tulsa my Fiance turned to me and said, "Well, I guess we can win this game now"
He's a true Hokie through and through and I'll always be appreciative of what he put himself through for this program. He may not be the winningest or most physically gifted or talented guy but he sure as hell has the biggest heart. Heck of a guy right there. Brewer will be missed.
And 3 of those talented receivers are early enrollees, so even more time for Fuente to mold them into studs!
not to say depth isn't a concern, but this was the same sentiment before this season. I suppose they proved they are the exception to the rule.
I love Motley and wish him nothing but the best, but he will not be QB1 next year.

The games we lost in 2004 were due to a lack of offense. In our 3 losses, we scored 13, 16, and 13 again. Had KJ stayed, I think we could have won a national championship.
Delo leaving helped the team if anything. There's an old article on TSL talking about how our secondary towards the end of 2003 was a free-for-all. Players did whatever they wanted on the field without any regards to their assignments whatsoever. The only position with a decent backup was free safety, and when Jimmy Williams got benched against Boston College, he ran up and down the sidelines, cussing and carrying on. I feel as if the other players looked up to Delo because of his talent, and as a result, it lead to the secondary playing selfish. Couple that with the subpar linebacker play and it makes for a disastrous defense.
After Delo left, the players, in my opinion, looked up to Vinnie Fuller. He made several huge plays that 2004 season, and was a great leader as well. The linebackers were better as well, and the team did way better than anyone thought they would.
Delo is a good guy off the field. As stated above, you have to have a lot of confidence to succeed at defensive back at the college and professional level. This sometimes gets misconstrued as him being a dirty player and whatnot. This isn't true, and I'm not biased just because I'm a Redskins fan. One cannot deny that he was a little too much his final year in Blacksburg, though. Ultimately, him being suspended for the Pitt game after fighting Antrel Rolle during the Miami game was when the season was dropped on its head and dragged. The defense lost all its swagger after that Miami game.
Yet it should be noted that of all the non QB players that have thrown a pass in a game Bucky is not one of them. That should tell you something about his passing skills. Everybody expects a run with Bucky is under center. Can you imagine if we actually passed. Bucky needs another year. His production has been down this year and I thought that was due to Brewer being out, however, his re-emergence with Brewer back was not impressive.
I'm fine with the update. I'm TH9 and have been busy trying to upgrade everything to max before TH10. This would require bouts of gem farming and the shield/boosting for a week. I'm loving the 1 gem boost right now.
Since the update I don't feel as if I'm losing as much loot. Part of it is because reloading xbows and traps are much cheaper. Nothing like being raided for 200k only to then pay another 100k in repairs. So I've been able to upgrade to black walls at least twice as fast.
I would say that the upgrade has removed some frustration on my part and has kept me around longer. Was close to checking out there, since I don't want to be constantly playing. I like to log in, collect, raid, upgrade, and log out.

Hall was picked in the top 10 right? So it was the right decision.
Him and Jones on the team in '04 probably would have been enough talent for us to win a national championship, but I dont think it would have worked out that way. We may not have won the ACC with them there, its just how it goes. '04 was special and a great team. I feel we may have tried to rely too much on Jones and Hall if they were there. Who knows what would have happened, but you cant mess with those memories!
Ah some context and back story.
Even a broken clock is right twice a day. Stroman did well this game but he has been mediocre for the majority of the season as the punt returner.
It could also be that he was telling an injured player to get down so he could be examined.
I have had to do that before while coaching. An obvious injured player would get up and want to continue. you need to replace him for a play or 2 so they can get it together.
