My wife watched that while I was doing some errands, got home right at the end of it, thank god. Evil Walter is what killed it for me. I loved goofy, rambling Walter.

I think we have a coach that will actually be honest about an open competition and honor the results. Thats pretty special in today's age.
Well if you let them run by you before you get a hand on them then it is kind of hard to hold them.
Arians releasing LT didn't necessarily say much of anything about his thoughts on LT in the long term.
Arians had a healthy Carson Palmer and a veteran back-up Drew Stanton. Arians likely felt he had a championship level team - and keeping an extra non-QB vs a 3rd QB who wasn't going to see the field (and might clear waivers) was a no-brainer.
I strongly suspect if LT had cleared waivers, he would have ended up on the Cards practice squad, but the Dolphins snagged him. If the Dolphins were in the playoff hunt, I doubt they would have put LT on the 53 man roster either. But they're not, so they had little to lose and everything to gain by keeping him from getting claimed by someone else.
It's a numbers game and teams have varying reasons -- not all of which have to do with current or potential talent -- for keeping either 2 or 3 QBs on their roster. In the end, LT is no more or no less the #3 guy on the Dolphins today on the 53 man roster than he was yesterday on the practice squad.
EDIT: But he is getting paid more today than yesterday...

He has the arm (and height) to utilize the center of the field. He has potential. He just needs practice to get the timing down on the deep balls and to better work throw some of the more mental aspects of the position. I won't be upset if Evans comes in and wins the starting job in a true competition, though.
I don't know the actual stats. But unlike the fan base, I think Beamer trusted Stroman and went after more punts this yr. Thus more fair catches and more returns on an island with little help for Stroman (but also fewer opportunities to block in the back).
And on KO returns, I think fewer in general are being returned - and those that do generally start in the 2 yards deep to 5 yard line range. These returns are usually met with resistance before the 20 and before reaching any daylight whatsoever which is when the contact in the back calls often occur.
Wow. Only 7 holding calls against the OL all year? That's pretty impressive. For a flag that could arguably be thrown on any given play, I think that's pretty impressive.

His film is insane. He plays like Deangelo Hall did in HS. Excellent field awareness, cover skills, honed RB skills like switching arms to guard against fumbles...he is a general out there.
He doesn't look quite as big as Hall seemed in HS - maybe he is, though - but man, he seems to RELISH coming up in run support like Hall did, which is often rare in DBs.
This guy looks like a "can't miss" from that film. wow, wow, wow.
Honest question, how many times was Big Lu called for being offsides? He was probably the most penalized for that one.
What about Steve Young? IMO, the face of all past BYU players. Not sure if he would be successful or even wants to coach, but hey, I would at least ask.
