In other words...
I'm sure rehabbing a torn ACL didn't help the cause: http://www.thekeyplay.com/virginia-tech-football-recruiting/2015/10/1050....
I tried to resist, but I just couldn't...

# | New Head Hokie Justin Fuente Lays Out His QB Preferences, Plans for Staff Transition I am definitely happy about this. I view developing a coach to the point they can leave for a bigger job as a success. Putting in place that development culture will attract the top young minds to the program.
This is a pretty underrated group.
Jimmie Taylor is only a 3*, but he's got offers from Duke, Florida, Michigan, NCSU, UNC, UT, UVA
Ladler's offers are framed by his injury, but Bama, Auburn, UF, FSU, UGA, LSU, Miami, MSU, Ole Miss, USC, Texas, UT, aTm.....they don't offer kids who can't play.
Denmark doesn't have a lot of offers, but Muschamp can recruit. That's a solid 3* kid.
Deablo is another kid ranked 3* but with 4* offers like Clemson, UF, Lville, NCSU, UNC, ND, OSU, PSU, USC, UT, WVU.....
Same with Kumah, offers from UMD, Miami, NCSU, NW, Pitt, UT.
Jackson had offers from AFA, Minney, NW, Oregon St, Utah, WVU....
It's not that far off to say that Ladler has 5* offers and Taylor and Deablo have 4* offers. Kumah isn't far away from 4* either.
mmmm that offer list is sooo sexy
Virginia Tech
Best in: Most 40-49 yard FG attempted
Worst in: Opponent overtime points per game in home games (sadface.gif)
Geeeeezzzzzz this is depressing.
Had that coming I guess...
well... I'm sure that .88 rating would have quickly jumped to .91 or whatever it would take to be a middle of the road 4* should he have gone to such other offers as Alabama, Auburn, Florida, Florida State, Georgia, LSU, Miami, Michigan St, UNC, Ole Miss, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Texas A&M, or Wisconsin...
Because he signed with us, duh.
Cause he didn't commit to Alabama Propaganda!
Man Christmas Day is gonna suck compared to all these wonderful toys we have been given already. It almost feels like Hanukkah full of 8 crazy nights
Waaaaaay off topic, but does anyone else think Sam looks a little like Tyrod?
With that offer list how is he only a 3 star?

Well, to be fair, we were kind of at an unfair advantage there. Our coach announced partway through the season he was retiring, so the AD had a head start on the coaching search....
Wait...

The Crystal Ball seems juuuust a bit off though

Offensive mediocrity and Beamerball all wrapped up into one stat.
I'm old. Get off my lawn and all that.
I just want to remind everyone this is a sports site with specific guidelines about the discussion of non-sports topics, and those rules have in no small part made TKP the best damned fan board on the intertubes.
Most of the comments here are 100% acceptable. Several paint the lines very close for comfort. And some few go right over the line IMO.
So I think I probably speak for most of us when I suggest we remember the guidelines and act accordingly when discussing this particular topic.
Maybe all those dudes already have a house and don't need to swap.
That is kinda scary...I had no idea they got that big!!
Welcome to good guys!
yeah, cuz they beat them. That's kind of my point. ECU doesn't help us at all, they only hurt us. Let's play crappy teams we know we can beat instead of mid-majors who are good teams but publicly regarded as bad teams. If I had it my way, I would substitute ECU for a reputable P5 program every year. I realize that's not possible though. Scheduling those teams is hard. So the years we can't get the reputable P5, let's swap ECU out for a much less dangerous team instead. Winning the game is more likely for us and effectively results in the same 'boost' as beating ECU would which is pretty minimal anyway.

So of our six recruits projected to play at skill positions, five are enrolling early. With Frank coaching through the bowl game on Boxing Day, that means Evans, Jackson, Deablo, Denmark and Kumah will essentially be in the program from the very beginning of the Justin Fuente era.
