Per NCAA rules, the new coaching staff is not allowed to coach players until the old staff vacates. So your options are to practice the system in place and try to win the bowl game, kick out the current coaches and have the new coaches try to implement their system before the bowl game or have the old coaches make an attempt to start implementing Fuente's offense in the short time they have before the bowl. Only one of those is viable. Bowl practices this year are going to be just that: practices for the bowl game (and some general player development that always happens with practicing). This is not one of those years where the coach can use the extra practices to get a jump on next year.

As far as Fuente is concerned, he isn't inheriting this team until after the bowl and he can't start coaching up the players for real until spring ball.

We have a pond in the back. We have a pool and a pond... Pond'd be good for you.

That high a buyout means only the top tier teams come calling next year.

Do you have a pond and a pool?

Rank at time of game means jack shit. Rankings in the first 5 weeks are guess work. I'm not impressed with the Big 12, really bad OOC schedule so we don't know how that conference really is we know that Texas beat OU like a rented mule and UNC had USCe and Fedora did Fedora things.

I'm sure you get the classic UT fan blame Lane Kiffin defense to those 37-14 comments don't you?

The North Carolina Athletic Association will probably be lenient with their darling UNC. Especially with UNC grad and commissioner of the All Carolina Conference, John Swofford, in their corner. I've heard that they are going to have women's basketball take the fall for most of this, if any sanctions do come down, to protect men's basketball and football.

4OTs, but the point still stands. The offense went blow for blow with Duke for 4 straight possessions. You can't discount those points just because they happened in overtime. Would I have preferred them to happen in regulation? Sure, but the overtime points aren't guaranteed (see: UNC vs VT, 2015)

Anyone who knows anything about inertia knows that going from 0-100mph immediately typically messes some stuff up initially. Things aren't perfect, but we went from virtually no social media presence to staffers dedicated to it pretty much overnight. I'm not surprised there are some things that need to be tweaked/cleaned up in that department.

I have a special tent in the backyard with your name on it!

It also wouldn't make sense to change a year long process for just one game. If I remember correctly everything is being coaches the same and Fuente is just gonna be there to observe with little to 0 input

Have I mentioned how much I hate Tennessee today? I dont think I'm mentally prepared for that match-up just yet. I don't want to stop saying "37-14" to every UT fan in Bristol that trash talks Tech. I honestly think I'll have a nervous breakdown in September. *sigh* We have to have a heck of a Tennessee hate week.

But I think we'll end up playing Mississippi State. Definitely would be a sea of maroon.

It's interesting to speculate what will happen at UNC based on the reputation the NCAA has in dealing with bad situations. IMO logic dictates they should be penalized pretty damn harshly but as you said the NCAA is way more lenient than they should be at times. So who really knows what will happen? I read something the other day that said this mess would have already been handled but UNC threw it's Women's Basketball team "under the bus" to keep the sanctions away for another academic year. Is there any validity to that?

But like I said, if they beat the #1 team in the country and enter the selection with a 12-1 record, how can you not consider that?
