Again, you argue the oddest points.
Buyouts are usually negotiated down. They are also often paid out over a few years. Finally, they are usually paid by some booster who has $2.25M to pay a buyout.
$2.25 is getting to the point where it's a big deal, but it's not there yet. For instance, we know McElwain's buyout for UF last year at $7M was a big deal. They negotiated it down by agreeing to play them. CSU must think that worked because Bobo has a $5M buyout for the next year. That's in the range where schools might actually think twice bout hiring him.
I go to medical school at UNC and out of the 5 students in my class that won a prestigious research fellowship, 3 of us are Hokies... Oh and none of us are UNC grads. Just saying.
If Smart is successful enough to replace Saban, he's successful enough to make Georgia the next Bama. Why on earth would he leave his alma mater for a lateral move?
Georgia is a blue blood program. If Smart can win championships there he's not going to leave for bama.
I wouldn't be surprised however, if successful, Smart bolts for Alabama after Saban retires.
I think it's a stretch to say our SG will be at capacity this year. I think it will definitely get a lot of interest. It won't be at capacity until we win a National Championship.
If the NCAA wants any leg to stand on with their position of "students first, athletes second," they have to come down on UNC hard. This was a series of actions over two decades in which the athletic department actively undermined the academic integrity of the university (and of course, the academic side was complicit and is on probation for it). There is nothing more severe than that, in my opinion. Miami had some egregious offenses, but all basically came down to improper benefits to some degree. No one was giving out fake degrees at Miami. Well, that we can prove...
I don't think he was referring to engineers. He's in marketing...
Our spring game is going to be at capacity next year.
April 23rd is the spring game, by the way, according to my Hokie Club Representative Annual Meeting - which is always held on the day of the spring game.
Refer to picture above, I think its pretty clear were in good hands...
UNC is currently under the harshest probation possible short of actual loss of accreditation. I linked an article a long time ago, but it is actually significant news for their administration.
I heard Tennessee is volunteering to be the first sacrifice...

Haha. that ODU coach, poor guy, his names Bobby Wilder, being in the 757, and having family with season tickets, it wont be long until Bobby Wilder is well known. Hes a really, really smart offensive guy who can recruit.
OK thats fair, didn't chose my words quite properly. But hey, they do have a Heisman winner!
No chance Lincoln Riley goes either. Him and Ruff had a great relationship. Plus few up and coming coaches would want to work with an athletic department that makes moves like this.
there is either a scandal or some hot-shot has been hired and they're waiting to announce.
OR
ECU is run by a moron. I guess we'll find out.
Either way, I'll be interested to see who they hire. This could be a huge swing in our eternal series with them.
And I am offended at your offense of my offense. This seems like a fair compromise.
Me this whole week, and probably this whole offseason.

Who would have thought we would follow up the most anticipated season opener ever with the most anticipated season opener ever?
It should leave you dumbfounded, since they broke NCAA rules, not just academic ones.
The NCAA needs to enforce their rules.
Seriously, Hes been a good coach for them. I was pretty shocked as it sounds most people were.

# | Fuente Kicks Off Recruiting Effort with Outreach to 2016/2017 Commits and Recruits In addition, I get vibes that the NCAA is almost taking a stance that, "this is an academic issue, not an athletic one so we will leave it to the University to manage the situation".
The stance leaves me dumbfounded but that may be the state of things in college athletics.
If ECU doesn't have someone lined up ready to announce right now, they just did one of the dumbest things I think I've ever seen. Who the hell would want to come coach for a school that pulls crap like this? They have one bowl-less season and its time to kick him to the curb, after one of the best stretches in school history?
They just dug their own f'n grave. Good lord, and I thought Weaver bungled the Seth Greenberg situation. This is so much dumber.
They don't have the Liberty to do that...
I've worked with a lot of engineers from different schools, and I've never been "impressed" with any UVA engineers. I'm not saying they're bad, just not impressive.
Not surprising: MIT engineers definitely live up to the hype

This is just the dumbest thing I've ever seen in my whole life. If Ruffin did something stupid and illegal, then, sure, fine, get rid of him. But if ECU is only firing him to try and convince Lincoln Riley to come back then they need to have their heads examined.
