In all seriousness, I like the fact that he could have an admin position so that he doesn't have to move. I want him off the coaching staff as much as anybody, but at the same time, I don't want him to have to move his family out of the only home they've ever known and away from their grandparents.

I think Frank (and Jim Weaver and so on...) set the University up to be an attractive choice whenever the time came, and Whit kept his cool when the time did come. Otherwise Justin doesn't pick up the phone after passing on a dozen or more other opportunities.
I am not sure Bucky took a step backwards as much as he was a "marked man" and received a lot more double teams and over under coverage. I think he actually developed a bit more well rounded game and was more involved as a blocker. Furthermore he was a tight end and thus was coached by Stiney rather than Burden.

Still won 9+ games a season during most of his career there, as well as coach very successful players who have gone on to the NFL
I know he played there but Richt just seems like an odd fit for Miami in my opinion

It's already breaking down. Thoroughbred kids are starting to branch out on their own despite the "advice" given.
why would parents allow it? well, really the answer needs to be from the parents but it has been speculated that these "coaches" are promoting their services as a means to help these kids get to the next level and their established access equates to a higher potential for reaching that success. If you are a hard working double income family with little to no time to do that for your kid yourself then that would be attractive. But how much they are aware of their kid getting funneled to one program over another, or away from a potential interest is not known.
the problem with any gatekeeper is that they inherently have personal interests that bias them and how helpful they are for the kid(s) they are helping. Anyone remember that RB from Oklahoma (I think) named Bryce Brown. Same kind of thing.

This didn't sit well with some on Twitter. I didn't think it was a terribly big deal, and I don't understand how there really could be any emotion after spending little time together.

I would think the actual school football coaches and players' families should work to steer their kids away from the group in this case. If they aren't actually looking out for the kids' best interests and want to act as gatekeepers to get what they want from college programs, then you would think people will start to realize this. On the surface, I think it definitely sounds like it has the potential to be sketchy af.
Something's gotta give. Either Fuente and the new staff will find a way to work with them, or the group will dissolve and players will start listening more to their high school coach and families. We can't let the rift continue, though. Thanks for your insight on the matter; I really didn't know much about why anyone in their right mind would be sending top football players to UVA and Timecop.
To further explain: Now imagine that the cost of this ticket is set at how much we value ourselves. To some, it might be a 35 dollar game in Scott Stadium (Hokies aren't even playing). To others it is comparable to the cost of a test drive of some car. To others it is like all our favorite players back in there prime on one team. I am talking 3 Fuller brothers in the secondary, and Michael Vick is back under center. We are up against Nick Saban at Alabama, and we just know we are going to make him look pathetic. What a special game that would be.
Yeah - some are saying they only fired Richt b/c Smart was set to go to USC-e. Saw Smart as a successor to Richt but not necessarily now until it became apparent it had to be now.
If Shane doesn't leave for another coaching gig, he will be retained in an administrative capacity.
Umm...Kirby Smart is a UGA alum. I think the would have wanted Fuente in a a vacuum but with Smart being an alum, I think he was probably the first guy on their list.

I don't think anything is irreparable, especially with Fuente coming in now. But the issue was that Beamer and Co talk directly to families, not middlemen. And these coaches wanted to be the gatekeepers to these kids and their families. Is that right or wrong? I think that is up to the coach, but in this case, given how truly classy the thoroughbred coaches responded I would say the correct decision was made at the time.
Now it's up to Fuente. By all accounts he is a no-nonsense guy, so I am doubtful of him putting up with it either.

# | Buzzketball Central: Northwestern Wildcats (5-1) at Virginia Tech Hokies (4-2) 7PM ESPNU I would agree with you that until tonight Allen was all the things you indicated but tonight that was not the case. He still had a couple of bad drives but his only turnover off a drive came as he was trying to kick the ball out to Bibbs in the corner. Other than that, tonight Allen shot 15% higher than his season average of 33% from the field, for the second game in a row, he went 7-8 from the line, he went 4-8 from beyond the arc and one of his misses was a 75 foot attempt at the end of regulation that hit the side of the rim. He may have only been credited with two assists but I counted at least six occasions where he drove into the lane and kicked the ball out to an open teammate. He still overplays on defense but was able to correct and affect his opponent on at least three occasions and created two turnovers out of bounds in the first half knocking the ball off the ball handler out of bounds and had two steals beside that. He even chipped in four rebounds. This was probably his most well rounded game as a Hokie so far. Hopefully he continues to improve on defense and keeps playing how he did tonight on offense.
As for Robinson versus Wilson at the end, Robinson is 2-10 so far this season from outside. The play was designed for Allen, so the only place Buzz would have planned for Robinson would have been a desperate attempt at a kick out. I am more upset that Buzz even involved Wilson on the final play. It should have been Bibbs and Allen rotating back and forth until one felt they had the attempt at a shot that they wanted. They were by far the top two shooters on the evening.
I don't know why, but the middle one gives off a creepy, molester vibe...
