ugh Sonny Randle....I HATE that guy. Always goes out of his way to troll VT on sports talk radio (or he did, I havent lived in Richmond for over a year)

I was wondering this past weekend how a sports "writer," who was universally hated by the readers, got a regular spot on espn tv.

He definitely seemed genuine, and honestly - how many press conferences have you ever seen where the retiring coach and new coach are smiling and discussing their first meeting? Not to mention Bud being retained, with two more defensive coaches right there with him (Wiles and Gray)... Bud's comment about staying because of roots, of family, and wanting to win championships with Fuente... There were just so many good things in this one. Whit's comment about Frank being able to pretty much do whatever he wants. I don't know that I've ever seen a presser quite like that one, and it really did hit the 'feels' button.

President Sands has a vision for Virginia Tech as a national force academically, in research, and now - clearly - in athletics. This is a great time to be a Hokie.

Maybe over 100 legs gets a Hokie Stone background... And there could be a special section in the Turkey Legs Big Board called "Posts Set in Stone" ???

Thanks for the background about the obstacles facing a modernization effort, but it doesn't change my opinion on the matter. Whether it's the Hokie Club or Virginia Tech itself, it needs to get it done. Sounds like Sands might understand the macro need to upgrade the financial / management system, but the bottom line is that custom development would fix this issue with the current system. Either way, until it happens I'm not interested in hearing excuses.

There is no problem with promoting former VT players in the NFL. It should definitely be encouraged. The issue is the amount of Tyrod tweets there are. We don't need to know every time he ties his shoes.

I know some of it is personal preference (all of the carriage returns, using the briefcase emoji in lieu of a lunch pail, etc. - not a fan, but whatever.), but there are times where some basic fact checking is missed. On a number of occasions, the account @tagged the wrong account (a few times for Duke FB as well as ESPN CFB). It posted the really blurry photo of Fuente arriving last night. They promoted Tyrod & the Bills, but quoted the "RT if you want the Patriots to win" tweet. The pre-scheduled Happy Birthday tweet for Holland Fisher.

By themselves, all forgivable, but together, this is an issue. There just seems to be very little oversight and the account ends up looking amateurish.

I am so glad I saw this before I went into my meeting, I would have looked like an idiot with the near convulsions this put me in.

Mike London was a fantastic crowd control officer at UVA. He managed to disperse any large gathering around the stadium quickly and prevented many from happening in the first place. He should get a promotion to full campus security officer now.

Saw two sacks or hits on Brewer where the RB/FB got planted and just grabbed air. These were probably early in the game. Its Cavs fault.... if the mfer would have like recruiting just a little bit, our guys wouldn't have been in the game or perhaps they would have been in the game but better blockers. When the head man told the RBC he wants the best runner in the game, the message boards went wild while Michael Brewer's mom shed a tear for her son.

Yeah, maybe. But Herman also has a good gig, it's not SMU or Memphis. Houston has been relevant for a long time now. If they want to pay him $3M and he can may NY6 bowls, he can wait on Texas, aTm, LSU, PSU, Clemson, FSU, Nebraska, UCLA or Oregon to open up.
