# | Report: Memphis Assistants Holman Wiggins and James Shibest to Join Justin Fuente at Virginia Tech Justin mentioned keeping some of the staff at Memphis right now to help them in their bowl game. Sounds like more Memphis staff is coming.
The other way to look at it is that he just got dumped because despite his mindset that marriage means a lifetime commitment, his now-ex is more concerned with mostly the physical parts of a relationship (which we all know fade the longer a relationship lasts). He likely dodged a bullet, in my book.
I know zero about the kid, but I have always found it odd, the move to bring in his HS coach on staff...
Its either he's a legitimate young coach who Loeffler saw promise, or the kid's a bit of a diva that needs some hand holding, Im hoping its the prior and not the latter.
I do think people are crowning him QB1 a little prematurely...recruiting stars mean very little and have zero correlation to future performance. All I know is, he came in and looked like a true freshman but he does have the skill sets to show promise.
Mentally, if he is anything like Sam Rogers or JC Coleman, there won't be any doubters come spring.

I like the way he talks about telling the Memphis players about his decision.
He faces it straight on. He met with them face to face, not like calling the players on the way out of town like a Randy Edsall.
I don't see Scot going back to being a position coach after having been an OC at two P5 programs. I don't think he's going to get another P5 job based on his performance at Auburn and VT, but I think he'll land as an OC at a G5 or FCS school.

# | Justin Fuente Discusses Decision to Leave Memphis for Virginia Tech When he said "Our AD" I got giddy like a little girl.
In watching this press conference, I'm absolutely convinced that Fuente is the right man for this job.
I think the recruits, and their parents, will be as well.
Edit: Also, in watching him field questions, he knows when to hold 'em, and when to fold 'em. If someone asks a question he doesn't have the answer to yet, he'll say that instead of feeding the media B.S.
You can easily add Bear Grylls, Russel Wilson, Marcus Mariota to that list.
Bear may not be young, but I read one of his books and hes my #fav so Ill let it slide.
