I'm not really worried as long as we continue to beat them yearly and they continue to have <6 wins to never make a bowl, I'll be happy.

Although, I'd prefer them not to get Mark Richt or Tom Herman because I honestly couldn't see them getting anyone better than them two.

I'm really curious to see which OL coach ends up in Blacksburg, as is French, I'm sure.

French, does Searels mindset mesh with Fuente's offensive approach? How does Fuente's Memphis OL coach (Vance Vice, link here: http://www.gotigersgo.com/coaches.aspx?rc=15) approach OL coaching, and will his mindset mesh with the current group of OL at Tech? I know what my wild-ass guess would be, but that's all it would be, and would love to hear French's thoughts. (Not that he's already working on that article or something, I know he loves the OL play.)

Per Memphis Rivals' Bryan Moss, Wiggins and Shibest made the flight to Blacksburg with Fuente,

Wiggins and Shibest can be seen over Fuente's left shoulder in the video. Screenshot for posterity's sake:

Id throw Richt up there with loluva, they pursued him once before. I assume it would be his job to turn down based on the current situation in charlottesville.

That's fair enough and all. I agree that's fun. What isn't cool though is when you get a bunch of naysayers on a message board start complaining because our new coach didn't put his staff together the way the consensus on a message board thought they should. That can be cancerous to a fan base and zap the life out of what should be an exciting time. He just got here.

His status says "transferring from UGA." He's not at UGA. Something just does not seem consistent. He also seems to have stopped using Twitter nearly 2 years ago. Odd that he'd run a FB page that has mismatched information.

Was looking at the schedules for the next few years, hes got a pretty favorable schedule to start his first few years with. I dont expect 10 win seasons from the get go, but Im thinking at least 7 wins barring injuries the first few years.

If you read Bud's contract that he just signed less than a year ago when he turned down Sumlin for the Aggies DC job, it's pretty clear Bud is sticking around, imho. He wanted to be the HC at Virginia Tech bad.... but he's sticking around town for a while.

Shibest looks like a terrific ST coach, based on his bio. Either that or he was just lucky to have great punters and kickers at each school where he coached (basically Arkansas, Ole Miss and Memphis). You also gotta like his kick and punt return defensive stats.

Wait why is this automatically fake? On the page it said he moved to Corsicana, TX where Navarro is.

Hiring a guy just because he's someone else's son does no service to the person whose son he is. If anything it's a disservice to the legacy Frank Beamer is leaving. If Shane Beamer stays it needs to be because he's the best fit for the job. It has to be because that's who Justin Fuente wants to work with. It has to be because it gives the team the best chance at winning. When Frank Beamer was hired he said something along the lines that the primary goal of a football coach is to win games and to do that he needs good people, and they need to be people he can trust. That is the legacy of Frank Beamer. We need to afford Justin Fuente the same opportunity to have good people that he trusts.

yeah but speculation is fun and since we can no longer speculate on who the HC is going to be we have to find other things to speculate on....and once the staff is set we'll get back to speculating what UVA's coaching staff will look like. Then, after that, we'll speculate how many wins we'll have next season. Then we'll discuss how many wins (losses?) UVA will have. How many people will be at Bristol. Croots. Etc.

Why would we continue to pay a coach simply because his dad was the coach here? I don't understand this thinking. If he's not getting the job done, he needs to go.
