United barreling straight towards Europa League.
I don't know if there is any reason we shouldn't win 8-9 games if Bud leaves. Have you seen our schedule? It's a joke
Love your optimism. I think you're smoking banana peels though.
I thought it was referring to Illinois not having an AD.
On the contrary...expectations will be fairly high from the get-go. Just watch.
incomplete sentence FTW, should have read" If Bud doesn't leave there is no reason we can't get 8-9 wins"
What is this tweet referring to?
I have said in other threads, I would be VERY shocked if he is the new HC. Bud is a great dc, and has been great for the Hokies. But IMO he's not the direction needed to move forward.
I'm not certain of that. It would be unprecedented. Coaches who get paid like that have accomplished much more than Herman has to date. The exception being Charlie Strong (and even that's debateable) but he coaches at Texas where the $$$ doesn't matter. Coaches who make $5mm or more: Strong, Harbaugh, Stoops, Meyer, Saban.
I think Herman is going to be great and he'll eventually get paid like that if I'm correct. I think it's foolish and premature to pay him that much this early, though. The man is only 40 and he hasn't even completed his first year as a HC. He'll get paid this year for sure. If he stays at Houston he's probably going to get $3mm which is nothing to sneeze at. He may get an offer closer to $4mm but I doubt if he'll be offered much more than that. The only place dumb enough to do it is LSU. I'm not convinced they'd make a deal Herman would agree to but that's probably his best shot at getting more than $5mm this year.
Herman probably knows there is going to be a bidding war for his services. He's going to get paid, I'm guessing $5M+.
??
Yeah except Frank Beamer is leaving the football program in far better shape than our basketball program was in before Buzz arrived. I'm not expecting the same growing pains for the football program as I did for basketball. At least our football team has a ton of talent currently in the Burg.
Honestly if Bud there is little reason we can't win 8-9 games next year.
Navy
Baylor
Ohio State
Mississippi State
Stanford Florida State
Oklahoma
I guess Herman didn't like Columbia
Purely comparing the cities of Memphis and surrounding area and Blacksburg and surrounding that's a HUGE difference.
Always. Til the end of time.
I hope they get to the point where I don't feel the need to proclaim this, however

I would pee myself.
Head scratcher. Who is making that call? Who would he be interviewing with? Might happen but feels premature https://t.co/wReBvzBpREโ FootballScoop Staff (@FootballScoop) November 25, 2015
and Matt Ryan.
Non-sequitur
UMD doesn't care about football success. They never would have joined the B1G if they cared about winning. They whore'd themselves out to that league for more $$$ and they knew exactly what they were doing at the time. They're going to be irrelevant in CFB for years to come.
The poor guy moved to another state and it's just too expensive to get vanity plates there.
As if we needed another reason to share this pic. I'd thought about replacing the ND with VT but didn't want to be TOO cocky. But hey, it's the Wahoos. Who cares.

My point was that managing a mid-major for a year has very little relevance to managing a power 5 program. That guys like Chad Morris or Tom Herman are reflexively regarded by so many as checking off the "head coach" box -- with all of 11 months of experience -- and Bud Foster isn't regarded as such is ridiculous, IMO. They haven't even realized the mistakes they've made so far, let alone how to avoid them.
They would be learning on the job just as much as Foster - and in many ways even more so.
