Especially along the OL. At this point, all the problems have been turned over and over by the fanbase so much that I don't even want to get into them anymore. This season has almost turned me off of the NFL entirely.

An OC has to know his units strength and weaknesses and adjust. He is ultimately responsible for all of the offense's position coaches just like FB is responsible for the coordinators. Too much has been going consistently wrong on the offensive side to not blame SL.
I think he needs to retain someone off of the O staff, Stiney or Burden to have continuity and someone with ties to HS coaches in state. He could almost field a great team with players just from VA if we could get back to signing between 3 and 6 of the top 10 and half of of the top 20 like we did for several years. Stiney has those connections and Burden's time at ODU would be a selling point. I think he would also be able to convince Lawson to stick around and Jackson to stick with his commitment (unless Loefler ends up at a P5 and recruits him).
But stepping up from VT is stepping up into an elite program.....Bama, OSU, etc. There are only a handful of those programs and they don't seem to be openeing any time soon. I suppose LSU may be in that category but Miles isn't fired yet and if he goes this year Herman obviously isn't getting the job next year or the year after. The only other elite school jobs that may come open would be LSU, UGA and maybe FSU if Fisher goes to the LSU gig. However I don't know why Fisher would leave what he has in FSU right now. UGA and LSU maybe but still I don't think he jumps after one or two years. After 5-7 years with a strong run is possible, but again that's coaching now for the most part.
