Tom Herman is undoubtedly a slam-dunk. But Tom Herman leaving after a year or two for a better job (a possibility, I'm convinced this guy will be an elite coach one day) might hurt us pretty bad. UNLESS:

1) Bud stays on AND we retain assistants who can continue to run Tom Herman's offense (ex: Clemson with Chad Morris' offense)

2) He makes an immediate impact in both recruiting and the win column and another coach (hopefully another excellent candidate) is there to step in and pick up where he left off.

3) Any combination or slight variation of the first two.

Apparently I can't embed my own tweet but...

UVA fan at work just said "Oh yeah, I forgot we play you guys on Sat." Typical #LOLUVA fan.

They do a lot of sitting during football lacrosse games.

Don't be silly, everyone knows Wahoo's don't actually go to football games.

"I like the dreams of the future better than the history of the past." - Thomas Jefferson and also every UVA football fan.

Do we have any members in jail for driving with an expired registration over the last six years?

I think, as some have said above, that if Bud leaves we'll be fine. I think it would be fairly easy to get a very good DC to come to VT with the reputation VT defense has. It's not a rebuilding of a defense but more of a sustaining / improving situation at a school that has a reputation for fielding strong defenses. Even when they aren't up to par with VT standards, VT defenses are still pretty good. I think a young DC or good DC at a lower program would love the chance to become the DC at VT and keep the tradition of the lunch pail defense going.
