There have been vocal posters complaining about the imbalance between running and passing on 1st down. I think there was one game (don't remember specifically) where we threw 70% on first down. That's mind boggling.

# | More Chatter About Memphis' Justin Fuente as next Virginia Tech Head Coach yeah...interesting indeed. This stat makes me mad, actually, because now I want Herman EVEN MORE. I already have my hopes way up...I'm setting myself up for disappointment. Oh well! I'm pretty confident I'm going to be satisfied with whoever Whit ends up hiring. We're in a good position to get a great coach and I think we will.
It is always a good time to hate on UVA. There is never a time when you should not mock UVA football. With their empty ass stadium, fans that quit and won't make noise because it isn't "gentlemanly", just enjoy having your early kicks and meaningless games with stupider helmets than we seem to end up with.
I hope you and your family are doing alright, my thoughts go out to all of you.

BLACKSBURG – The Virginia Tech football team announced plans for its uniform combinations for the team's final two regular season games. Based on feedback from Hokies' student-athletes, head coach Frank Beamer has blessed his players' wishes to wear a black helmet and uniform combination for Saturday's game vs. North Carolina. Beamer has also approved the team's desire to wear a retro road look for Beamer's final regular-season game at Virginia on Nov. 28. That maroon helmet, white jersey and white pants combination will replicate the Hokies' road look from Beamer's inaugural season as Virginia Tech's head coach in 1987.
So we're just wearing the normal whites? Dang - was hoping for more of the retro look unis...
agree 100% a 3 and out possession is a big failure for a ball-control style offense. Although sometimes I think Beamer finds it acceptable to trade punts if he picks up field position.
Which is why I'm surprised more Loeffler detractors aren't pointing out how his creative play calling on 1st and 2nd down frequently puts us in low percentage situations on 3rd down.

The amount of weapons an offensive coach would have at his disposal here for the next few years has to be a huge selling point.
No new jersey, they are just going to wear the current white tops/pants (which are throwbacky already).
Has Knowles just been injured? How do you go from being like a 500-600 yard guy a few years ago to being a complete non-factor and "we don't have a third receiver." I know he has drawbacks, but it's hard to imagine he isn't at least serviceable if healthy.
Does anyone have any insight?

Game flow has a little bit to do with that, but yes, I was surprised as well.

Forgive me if this is a stupid question for I am 23 and have almost no experience buying photos/prints, If I purchase a large print of the carrying beamer off the field picture to be put in a nice frame, would the giant THEKEYPLAY.COM be in the bottom corner or is that just so nobody can steal the picture online?
Sorry if that read as an attack or disparaging remark, that was not my intention. I just saw too many people blaming the entire loss on the offense. It is a team game, win or lose, all three elements had bad plays.
I think Scot has done some nice things, and I also agree with you that we should not be making fundamental mistakes this late in the season. I do wonder how many of those mistakes are because our OC didn't pick his staff? But the first rule of being an OC should be find something that works, if the players aren't getting it maybe you need to rethink what you are doing.
