If it makes you feel better, He was also walking around pretty okay, interacting with the fans and family members after the game was finished. If there was a serious injury you'd think they take him to the training room

What happens when Defense doesn't decide games anymore.
Lets say UNC is held to 75% of their offensive avg by a great defense performance - 371 yards in the game (Their worst Offensive game of the year) and 32 points
most thru passing as the defense holds on to limit rushingVT is held to its offensive avg by decent defense but a good final performance by brewer 370 yards and 30 points (See NC State game)
VT has scored 30+ pts against Furman Purdue and Duke*
UNC held to Foster Defensive best 205 yards passing, and 445 total yards and a below avg 31 (no PAT)
and a offensive best 27 points 405 yards offensive

Earlier this season I was still patient with Loeffler, as I believed that the rebuild on offense would take at least through this season, and preferably through next season, to evaluate fully. Having all your best players in their second years, as well as the running back rotation we insisted on early in the year, were both still immutable truths, and the Brewer injury forced us to shift gears in one way which we were not capable of shifting.
I've changed my mind. At this point, I've seen enough. I think we have more talent on the offensive side of the ball than we've had in years, and it might match up well with some of the better units of the last 20 years. But I do not see a well-executed offensive strategy. Loeffler might be a good QB coach. Might be. But I sure don't want him as our OC anymore.
OT kind of, but that was really classy of Metallica to make another tribute video for us. Did it show it on TV?

Take it for what it is. A guy I trust posted that he heard the exact same thing different things from THREE very reliable sources who "would bet on it"

The fact that Herman and Fuentes were offered big raises .. There's a very good chance that implies that they both have offers in hand and are vetting their options .. I made the mistake of accepting a job offer once without extending a courtesy to my current employer and allowing them to make a counter offer .. Made an assumption that they wouldn't counter enough or at all. Will never make that mistake again. The fact that Herman and Fuente have neither signed the new contract could also imply that it wasn't good enough. Even if they haven't taken calls for HC jobs YET, it would be in their best interest to hold off as long as they could on signing the new contract
With the Tarholes so hot on offense this season and most of the game, the odds were in their favor in overtime.....I don't understand why we didn't go for two on our last TD while our offense was rolling.
Beamer-Lane Stadium?
It's not a participation trophy. It's a reward for Beamer and co for stressing academic excellence for STUDENT-athletes. And the downvote was because of unnecessary sarcasm

Ah yes, back in the day at Sharkey's when the supermugs were still legal. Started going there when they were next door and always hung out upstairs. When it moved to the current spot, we started hanging at front bar. I remember Spanky, Bunny, and Karanja. Saw Karanja have to chase someone down who flicked his cigarette at him, the kid wasn't fast enough and Karanja was a giant human being, about as big as Bunny.

Rename the 'quad' that is Lane/Merryman/Cassel/the Beamer barn 'The Frank Beamer Athletic Complex'. Redo the sidewalk on Beamer Way to have famous Beamer quotes. Quotes start at the corner of Washington/Beamer Way. First quote would be the one from his first press conference where he said that VT could be a national championship contender (and everyone thought he nuts). Throw in a quote from after the Texas Sugar Bowl win. Throw in some comments he made in the aftermath of 4/16. Final quote is in front of Lane, and includes something from his retirement press conference, or something reflecting on the end of his time here. The walk from Washington Street to Lane Stadium could commemorate and symbolize his career. We could even start a new tradition (or update the current tradition) where players/coaches are dropped off at the start of the 'Beamer Walk' and finish the 'Beamer Walk' as they enter the locker room.
TL;DR - Statues are nice (and well deserved) but I'd like to see something unique, since after all, there was no other coach quite like Beamer.

Team played hard as hell and almost outplayed the offensive play calling atrocities. Defense was put in so many terrible situations and remained relentless all game long.
It was a loss but I couldn't have asked for a better day to send off the greatest dude VT will ever have.
That's some great news, and it absolutely makes me feel better. I'm actually glad my injury analysis skills are much shittier than I thought.
