My uneducated, not-rule-knowing opinion - he may not have caught the ball between his hands, but it was clearly 'trapped' between his hands/forearms/body. The ball 'moved' but never left this 'trap'. I was surprised they even reviewed it to be honest.
Defense letting Hood walk untouched into the end zone, TWICE... Game. The defense was great for three quarters and fell apart for most of the fourth.
Here's the thing about our fan bias. UNC had the same problem and we give credit to our defense, so why don't we give credit to their defense?
I really got the feeling in the stands that ESPN was calling the game more than the refs. The ESPN guy was huddling with the ref's at times.
My thoughts, and I admit I am biased, are that you can't end the game on a bobbled catch in overtime. That catch should have been overturned.

There were a lot of great playcalls by Lefty in that game as well.

I was pretty upset that we kept giving up zone read runs and kept getting fooled from the play action off of those zone reads. Wide open fields off the PA, I'll give u that.

Just got the car. I'm upset we lost, but I've NEVER walked out of a stadium smiling before. We have the best fans ever. At least 3/4 of the stadium stayed to chant Beamer. And then the players carried him off the field. I have never been more proud to be a Hokie.

The middle of the field was wide open all game long. All game. Outside of those gifted turnovers, our defense likely gives up 30 today. I know that's below UNCs average, but between the bad play by the LBS in coverage and the bad tackling, that should have been worse.
No excuses for the offense, though. Fire them all unceremoniously. Make them take a taxi home from UVa. Today's effort was.... not good

Absolutely, bizarre to come out against the defense. Defense was the only competent unit on the field.
I don't think it was a catch but its too close for it to be overturned. They said its has to be 100% indisputable, and I don't think there was 100% evidence to warrant the reversal.

There are a good number of scenarios that can still happen to teams ahead of UNC that could make the ACCCG a de facto play in game if Both teams win out
Yeah, this UNC offense was probably the hottest in the nation. Duke had all these great defensive efficiency numbers and UNC hung 66 on them. Our defense made some errors, but overall they played inspired. I don't have many complaints with them.
Bud can stay as DC, but only if we get a head coach who can recruit, and an OC who can stay with the other team, score in the red zone, and make up for the initial possession where we always spot the other team 7 points.
