My spelling may be a little off but after reading that I'm pretty sure you can't spell Lunch Pail without Fuente. I'd be down with that hire 100%. Love the mentality that he has and hearing what he does with development makes me believe that VT's history of walk-ons would continue. We want all of the Sam Rogers.

Only downside is that I thought he was super tight with his DC.

Remember that crude/aggregate metrics don't always tell the whole story. FEI rankings have the LSU offense ranked 12 this year, VT is 101. S&P+ has LSU offense 14, VT 81.

All in favor of an anti-RichRod hashtag:

Really like Fuente (from what I've seen in interviews, etc.). May major concern with him is recruiting. He has being recruiting with one-hand-tied-behind-his-back, but I wonder what he would do here. Not saying he couldn't be good, but it is an unknown.

I don't think it is implausible one bit that they actually do have a source or two. Having worked in the athletic dept myself, during the time these two played for us, I would say that their source is someone still on the football staff, whether it be a coach, GA, strength coach, trainer, team doctors, team nutritionists, tutors, Video coordinators... while you're right about the turnover, it has been largely at the top of the VT Athletic Dept, the Football team has a ton of people still working for the program that these two would know and/or have a relationship with. Let's also not forget, there has been a lot of speculation around Bud and other coaches remaining on board or not remaining a part of the program, these types of decisions specifically will decide the fate of a large amount of employees who are tied specifically to Coach Beamer's regime. Anyone of these support staff people would be wondering what is coming next for their own careers, in fact I personally know some of them are. If you think for one second they are not clamoring for information about who the next coach will be even more so than us, you couldn't be more wrong. In my mind, Coach Foster is the lynchpin, I am positive Whit has spoken with him about the future and while he might be playing it close to the vest because it is in his best interest, many others inside that building other than Whit have an idea of where this is heading and who is on his list, probably more than media members. IMO.

You'll get a leg from me every time you reference this. My all-time favorite Christmas movie, and one of my all-time favorites ever. I watch every Christmas Eve at a minimum.

"Halleluiah, holy shit! Where's the Tylenol honey?"

How come Herman is being linked to the USC-e job more than the VT job. Is it because Herman is seen as someone who wants to go off to a higher profile job and USCe is seen as a stepping stone for that?

Love the pic. With Fournette they rank 51 in total O this year. The six years prior they ranked 80/36/87/86/86/112 in total O. How is that even possible with the 5 star talent they get year in and year out.

Lefty sure sounded like a coach who knows he's done and already interviewing, or at least positioning for his next job. That 2nd quote sequence when asked about working with Chizik in Auburn absolutely sounded like a guy who's hoping he gets a chance to work for him again somewhere. Definitely don't blame him at all, but that paragraph just sounded like more than the usual pre-game praise for your opponent.

This is so spot on- great work

"I also hope that Buzz slows this team down a bit in offensive transition to cut down on the unnecessary turnovers we saw last game. We threw away at least five possessions on transition passing. Focus on controlling possession, getting the ball into the hands of open shooters or a big man that can create a high percentage shot in the lane. This will limit the number of possessions for our opponent while also scoring more consistently on our own possessions. While we have the speed on the roster now to run with a team like this, it would be better in my opinion to force the Gamecocks to slow down, making their mistakes all the more glaring and helping these young Hokies learn to trust themselves and each other."

1000% Agree, weve had too much time pick a favorite and choose sides.

People went from being excited about PJ Fleck (who honestly, I agree with Joe, he's a serious name to watch here in the next few years) to people disgusted at the idea of Les Miles/Mark Richt/JOHN HARBAUGH/MIKE TOMLIN!!!

COME ON!
