Here's an interesting article on the topic.
According to a Sports Illustrated examination of football recruits, "Of the 500 players ranked in the Rivals100 for the classes of 2007 through 2011, 73 (14.6 percent) de-committed at some point during their recruitment. Of those, 62 (12.4 percent) ultimately signed with a school other than the one to which they originally committed."
To be fair, many VT greats came in as 3*s or even less
Yes, but EVERY 5 star we've landed became a great. The more stars, the higher the likelihood the player pans out.
I wouldn't start worrying just yet.
But I agree, I'm more concerned with this season than recruiting at the moment. If you win, the recruits will notice.
I don't particularly care for it, but it's pretty low on my "Virginia Tech Football To-Fix List." Definitely behind the replace-skipper-with-fire-breathing-bud-foster initiative.
Ok Fuller boys lets get on with the program. Logan is doing his part for a future TE er QB.
YOU WILL DO IT AND LOVE IT!!! Sorry, couldn't find the correct gif to go with this on Internet world.
Although it went the other way, didn't Sweat play out that way as well?
Yes you can. See:
Durkin
Lawson
*Squeeeeeeeeeeee!* Congrats to them!
Edit: Just noticed that's two NPH GIfs in one post. Probably two too many. My bad.
(I'm loving this new thing called GIFs...)
You'll at least get their thursday night, monday night, and sunday london games. Not terrible
Yeah, I'm pretty resigned to not getting many of his games out here on the west coast, but that little patch of green right under me is so tantalizing! Rawr!
Stick it in, Tyrod!

That's funny, because I've seen your screen name before and wondered if that was my K'ville. My nephew doesn't teach there, and he may even be a volunteer coach, but his name is Jason Ring. I played baseball there back in the day with Alan Plaster, who is the AD there now. We played in the first night game at East. I believe that game was against Glenn, but I could be wrong. And Cone liking Wake isn't surprising. Haven't seen him play, but I know East has been stout the last several years. I went to a game three years ago when I was in town for my dad's funeral, and I was stunned at the size of the players. I wasn't one of the big kids when I played in HS (6'2", 185 lbs), but I wasn't small either. But those kids on that team would have made MOST of our team look small. Anyway, good to meet you on here.
PS - BTW, Hastings Hill Rd. is named after my family. My dad literally lived within about 100 yards of the same spot his entire 82 years. Hard to imagine this day and age.
Might still be in the running for him. After losing to UK (their first road win in 5 years), I imagine Spurrier is starting to feel that seat warming up
Noice. I think we may have done that too...not sure.
But, my wife did bribe the DJ into playing Enter Sandman when we were introduced! There were a handful of Hokies there, and they were jumping. Pretty darn cool. (Of course I had to explain it to a few people why we have "metal music" playing.)
A bra as a top! Brilliant!
A touchdown with a two point conversion. A field goal. Another touchdown with a two point conversion. And then just a regular touchdown as the clock runs out .... a coke, some fries and .... hold the #sauces. Thank you.
Yeah, that's similar to my thoughts after watching Purdue/Indy St last week. They are okay, but not great. Offensively, they are comparable to UVA. Shifty, yet powerful for small guys at RB. Nothing great at WR (UVA is actually better at WR). Solid QB who likes to run and is pretty big. Experienced OL, but not great talent. I would think this is an offense we can get after.
Defensively, you got a better review than I did because ISU stinks pretty bad. Nothing stood out.
One thing I saw was that ISU had lanes on KO returns. If they had decent athletes, they could have broken one or two. Unless we are inexplicably still allowing Kevin Asante to return KO's, we could break one this week.
Totally whiffed on the /s my B guys
lol I know... I mainly just replied so I could drop in the shit eating grin of a gif
I'm having a hard time imagining us making 6 FG's at this time. Unless we attempt 10.

Depends, if we can close with Haskins, Yulee, Dickerson, and Merritt than this could be a pretty good class. I think Haskins and Merritt are likely to be Hokies but Dickerson and Yulee are up in the air at this point. I'm sure there will be some out of the blue surprises as well.
