I'm not really understanding what you expected? Give Motley all the 1st team reps to make sure he is ready? You seem like a guy who thinks the glass is shattered on the floor no matter how much water was in it.

Is that what that game looked like though, that, that was a back up plan?

More importantly from everything read on here and heard from the coaches this seems like wing it to surviving til Brewer comes back

"It's going to be interesting to see Motley with a week's work," Beamer said.

So why wasn't this planned earlier and worked on

This is great to hear. I went to Columbus last year with my Fiance, best friend, and his wife and we were treated very well by OSU fans the entire weekend, before and after the game. I was really hoping we would return the favor. I know every fanbase has it's bad apples and I'm glad that you didn't encounter any of ours.

The loss in the last seconds was classic but even better, london may have saved his job!!!! Please god let it be true!!!!

The safety either gave up on the play or was way out of position. By the time the ball got to Fuller the safety was still a good 5-7 yards away from him and had no chance at making the play. Can't tell from the clip but he may have been the only deep safety and if so he was probably in the center of the field and not cheating over to Fuller's side to help cover. QB may have looked him off too. I would hardly call it double coverage, though.

No, more about game management for any team. QB went down with a half of football remaining and 2nd team QB comes in and manages the game well.

As for OSU game, we lost our QB and the defense gave up 42 points. Those aren't related except by game management. My entire point is that there was no plan when the QB1 goes down. If Motley is the next guy up then there seems like there should have/has been lots of time for him to learn and be ready as next man up. If he's not ready then Lawson or Durkin should have been ready. Motley is a runner and that should have been what the game turned to if Motley is going to QB1. Couple of pass, lots of running; Jet sweeps, run weak side and strong side hand offs, and another wild turkey play

We were down 21-17 when Motley came in. It was still a close game

Glad to hear you had a good experience. Feel free to drop in and talk football any time!

I'm cautiously optimistic.

Do not take this in anyway that I am happy about Brewer's injury. Again, I was sick to watch it and I hate it for him, his parents, and the team. And I hope he gets back sooner than later.
But I'm gonna take the glass half full approach: had Brewer not been injured, he would be getting almost all of the snaps. The injury has forced the coaches' hand to get Motley/Lawson/Durkin reppin' and that sets us up MUCH better for next year. Can you imagine our QB having his first full game at Bristol? We'll have some much needed experience at that position with depth, and more talent coming.
When Brewer comes back, the position will be his, but the team will be better off depth-wise.
The injury puts pressure on the running game which we vastly need to focus on-great steps against Furman were taken.
And it gives the team a rallying cry; not that it needed one.
VT fans are used to minimal depth at the QB position. If this college football season so far is any indication, injuries will happen and you need a SOLID #2, #3, etc. QB ready to go. Coach Loeffler is creating that.
We still need more depth at WR and O-line, LB, but it's better-next year even more so hopefully.

I really hate the Bills, but Tyrod's prob my favorite Hokie, so I hope he kills it.

I love that we don't even need to gloat over this one, the whole universe of football is doing it for us. Ha! My wife and I have a continuing discussion about whether a trouncing is as bad as a last second heartbreaker. I kinda trend toward the trouncing, but this was a really great heartbreaker. Loved it, fun to watch.

As an independent, ND must treat every game like a conference game. There's no conference championship path to the NY6 bowls. They don't have the luxury of saying, eh, this game doesn't really matter, let's just get out of here in one piece.
