Does Brewer have a medical redshirt opportunity? I know he was hurt at TT. If he's out 8 more weeks and only has 2 games left, plus a bowl (yes, I'm going there), would it be worth it to play if he has another year?
Didn't see this anywhere, but was there a good headcount of OSU fans in attendance? From TV it looked like they filled up the visitor's section but not much else. I'm just curious since that was one of the many things we were debating prior to the game.

-If you aren't in Hokie Club (where you can pre-reserve tickets), you aren't guaranteed tickets unless you are physically at Bristol Motor Speedway on Oct 2?
-Otherwise, you have to enter a lottery, and aren't guaranteed spots?

I wouldn't be surprised to see Motley in there longer than expected if we are able to get a good lead. I am sure Leoffler wants him to get all the reps he can at this point.
I say yes to fractional points. Frankly, I can't think of the last time I played in a league without them. Every yard gained should mean something for scoring purposes IMO. Can't figure out why people would be against them.
Standing in NEZ on those little motion pass routes to Elliot I could tell the DBs were too slow reacting to this. I can understand the first time it happens that someone is slow to react and that's fine because Frye might not have been predicting those routes to pick him. However once it happened the second time I was screaming for someone to get over fast, or have Frye take the deep coverage, which eventually happened but like French pointed out that Facyson and Stroman both took the flat that I knew we were in trouble. When i saw both of OSUs receivers coming out on routes and Frye all alone I knew a big play was coming because there was no way that Frye could cover both. I have to tip my hat to the OSU Offensive coordinator for baiting the DBs to step up to take Elliot (which made since for one to step up to take Elliot since he kept getting chunks of yards) leaving Frye alone trying to cover two guys.

From the promo's they showed, it was clear that Beamer is a central character. More than ever, I expect him back next year.
Which, ironically, will mean that RichRod's first game as HC for VT will be against WVU in FedEx in 2017. That will be.....interesting.

Wow, that's pretty cheap. I guess the traffic concerns are my excuse for watching it in my pajamas on my couch.
either motley wasn't up to speed on the playbook which considering his time in the program seems ridiculous or lefty didn't trust mot to run the playbook effectively
Option 3: Rather than a trust issue, we conceded the game for fear of losing our first and second string QBs to injury. Scaling back the offensive playcalling doesn't necessarily imply a lack of trust.

Agreed, but perhaps it was not clear that I was referring to the quality of our backups. We have had many years where the backup was a JuJu Clayton or Mark Leal type talent.
edit: By quality I mean currently a quality backup.
When the coaches can practice these guys 40+ hours a week like your employer, I will buy in. If you look back over the last 2 decades, virginia tech has been unusually successful at the qb position when compared to other similar programs. A second string qb just isn't going to win many games coming in cold off the bench with a limited playbook. Add that to the fact that it was the best team in the country and I'm not surprised at the outcome we saw.
I have smelled these same sauces here around Bristol as well. It's what they do for the Nascar races, so it makes sense.
