Rock solid maybe. One of my nieces is a junior at ECU this year, and she wants my youngest son and I to visit for the game that weekend. (My 16 yr old son would hate that... visiting his cousin and her sorority.)

Depends on what plays he was anticipating. They may have only had 10 plays for him to play from the wild turkey, but once he had to come in permanently, that required opening the play book up more, and thats where he lost it.

The coaches have said all along that Jonathan was a RT I believe. Wouldn't surprise me to see Yosh at LT the rest of the season.
Agree on the ECU point. As far as who else we play, those aren't every year deals like the division teams, sadly.
Not sure you can ever prove correlation vs. causation in something like this, but I think somebody at TSL looked at it 1-2 years ago and I seem to recall that nobody with a (1-2 year ago) budget much under $100M ever won a BCS title, except possibly 2001 Miami (which is a private school and doesn't report budget the way publics do, so it wasn't clear)

That hold...It looked bad in person. It looked worse on the jumbo-tron. It looks even worse watching the clip on ESPN's game highlights page. Dadi has his whole body turned to make a play on Elliot if not for the lineman with two fistfuls of jersey tugging him back. Maybe we need to get Dadi a tear-away jersey so it will be even more obvious to the refs next time.
On a related note (and I'm not going so far as to say the refs cost us the game, because that's simply not the case), don't refs get graded on how many and which calls are missed after the game? Are these grades posted anywhere? I'd be interested to see how well they did from an objective point of view, since as a fan I'm only going to remember the really bad calls (it was a catch)
So with Brewer/Motley/Durkin/Lawson, Sam MF Rogers, Bucky, and McMillan we had/will have four QB's in the backfield. It's obvious from here on out what we are supposed do.
Absolutely agree. But the point is, Clemson isn't a national power either. They've had their shots, and when the stars aligned in 1981 they won a national title. But look at the last 15 years, and you'll see they finished in the top 25 a little more than half the years, and in the top 10 twice. We've done better than that - we're closer to 2/3 and 1/3. We need to do much better than the last 3 years, but it's hard to see the next 15 years being that much better than the last (say, top 25 every single year and top 10 in 10 of them).

Exactly... and to expand a little, it boils down to why over the past couple of decades we have been able to recruit RB talent such as Kevin Jones, Ryan Williams, David Wilson, Darren Evans etc. etc. and our QB situation has always been a bit shaky. VT has historically been known as a "run" team. Run first, pass when necessary. That has always been the brand, that has always been the image from as far back as I can remember. We always have a great shot at the top RBs in the nation, but top QB talent just doesn't want to play for the Hokies, they want to play where they can do what they do best, not manage a game, but control it, be a first option, not 3rd or fourth behind a string of RBs. Same with WR and WR depth. We see that changing now with Loeffler and with fresh faces in coaching on the offensive side. Team identity is not the whole of recruiting, but it plays a major role. Our identity as a grind it out, run the ball, let the defense take care of the rest team can be personified by the O'Cainspring era, but that identity goes way back before them, and for recruits, that identity can be a hard thing to shake. Hopefully Loeffler and company can do that and whoever Whit brings in for the new era can expand upon it.

No, we don't. I don't get that. We dominated in 2011 except for Clemson both times. We were underdogs, we got wrecked. 2012, we were the underdogs against FSU, couldn't win there. 2013, underdogs against Alabama, couldn't win. I guess we did well in Miami 2013 and OSU 2014, but other than that not really.
We have been a perennial Top 25 team for a good amount of 25 years and we should strive to stay there. People shouldn't be happy being unranked just because expectations become lower and we do better as an 'underdog'. From 1999-2011, we were the underdog a very select few amounts of times and generally we did not do well against them so I really do not get when people say the opposite.
Bottom Line. The lateness of the throw is the issue.
Motley has to go through his progressions quicker and with more assurance in his mind. Period.
He had the longest run and the longest pass reception vs OSU.

i don't think that'll happen, cause i think our D line and running game can get us through it.
That being said, it might be a 10, 14 point win.
We need to be patient because there are going to be lumps these next few weeks, no matter which qb is playing
