Any coach at the college level knows that you DO NOT change up the identity of the offense from week to week. Changing schemes may look good on paper, but the install process would take too long and not be thorough.
This is only my opinion, but I'm sure that the staff have gone over a "what if" scenario during the off-season about what should be done in this particular situation. The coaches will put the best QB out there based off of hours of training & film evaluation. I'm looking forward to seeing a star emerge out of this situation.
PJ Fleck will be a big time coach very very soon another good year or two for WMU and he could end up being a very rich guy at a top P5 school
Madden: "If you don't tie, you will win every game that you don't lose."
Pat Summerall: "Thanks, John."
The major downside of Sam at QB is that he's not catching passes.
Absolutely. That's why I used an X instead of even a range. Just no way of knowing. :(
maybe.. i don't think motley has a cannon or else the td pass would have been crisper and the int he threw wouldn't have hung up as long as it did.. almost looked like a punt.
But agreed on your last point, trust the coaches and at this point is 1 isn't working then 2a or 2b will be coming in quicky
okay, fair enough. What are there, like 120 teams in FBS? After 1 week, there should be 60 teams with 1 more win than us. So I would rank us in the bottom half of the 120 teams.
At least he didn't take a page from the Florida Gators and block a teammate instead.
agreed, but our offense playing better than our defense isn't a reason to have us unranked. Especially when you consider the opponent and how good they are offensively.
Perhaps so. I definitely want to see a lot of him on the field and then we'll make another analysis.
Saying that you love JC doesn't make it okay to call him shit.
I'd rather the entire 2-deep be made of 4* and upperclass high 3* guys, while bringing in 1 or 2 5* guys every year in the skill spots.
And really, that kind of recruiting prowess isn't exactly out of reach for us.
This film review basically backs up my sentiments I posted in the post game notes/quotes thread. Glad my eyes weren't lying.
I just want to see us win games. If we have to put Sam Rogers at QB, as long as we win. He was a HS QB I believe. Haha
I think the fact that pretty much all of osu players are elite athletes makes for fitted players.
I mean they were missing all kinds of talent offensively too, and they still embarrassed us. I don't know where you want to draw the line. You can throw out "ifs" and "buts" all day and make counterpoints to every counterpoint. There are so many intricacies in CFB that you can relatively easily form any argument and support it with some type of metric. At the end of the day, our offense scored 24 points on one of the best defensive teams in the country and our vaunted defense allowed 42. The way I see it, our offense played better than our defense.
I'm sure there will be a package for him. Beamer stated they had a package for him for OSU. I just think that they were looking for certain conditions and once Brewer was hurt they didn't get to where they wanted to play that package. I would be surprised to not see him this weekend. If he doesn't get in the game this weekend I'd have to believe that it's to get Motely as many in game reps as they can before ACC play begins.
Why this won't happen. Boise was my oldest sons first game (he was -1.5 weeks) and we were in the hospital waiting for him to be born during the jmu debacle (though he did not come for a few more days). I am not having any kids this week that I know of so we therefore cannot lose to a div II team (or whatever the hell they are called now). #sciencefact
I came away a bit concerned that he's too much east/west rather than north/south.
Stoman got picked on early in the game, although he seemed to improve as the game went on. I thought Riley should have gotten more burn.
Haha, I tend to be a pessimist some times, so these thoughts come into my mind unfortunately... Love the gif
Teams like Boise state generally get to those BCS games because they have gone undefeated against awful competition and then the bowl game is just as much about game plan/prep as it is about the players on the field.
Would rather have the 5 star first teamers than a team filled of 2-3 * players. Ideally would have a team filled of 3* players with some 4-5* talent mixed in at key positions.
Either you mean week 12 or Northern Illinois.

Fine. Bad choice of words. He wasn't finding the holes like he did end of last year, he still can't block (size)...I'm left thinking...well he's strong...and he doesn't give up...he'll be great at manual labor...Trey couldn't find the holes either, but he's always seemed to have that problem, so it didn't seem abnormal to me at all...why wasn't McMillian the RB again? Oh yeah, last year...but JC ain't the same, he looks like all his previous time here...
