I'll humor it with a response, though I know it's probably frivolous to do so. These are just possible explanations...or maybe it's like you choose to believe not matter what, which best I can tell, is that Urban Meyer is personally taking his QBs to the diamond store, the dealership, etc and telling them to have their pick. Keep in mind that players that do come from rough circumstances are able to afford certain things based on Pell Grants, student aid, loans and living stipends, those of which could result in players from certain backgrounds having more money than, say...someone like myself when I was in college.

What was so nice about his apartment anyway? I feel like I've seen you bring this up around here a couple times. It looks like one of the small off-campus living community, cookie cutter apartment blocks where hundreds and hundreds of upperclassman reside. These places are usually shoddily mass-built and run by some really sketchy management companies that will own all of the community properties and take advantage of college kids by essentially giving them facades to live in and being total cheapskates. I lived in one of these my junior year. It wasn't as high quality as it appeared, it was small, my management sucked, it was north of campus in the 'burbs...it was the least expensive place I lived while in college and I didn't have two nickels to rub together. Or, as I figure you'd find a more reasonable explanation, maybe he's holding people up at gunpoint and stealing all of their money and/or moonlighting as a con-artist to pay for his million dollar apartment! Could be!

As far as the car...I mean, I may have missed it (certainly possible) but I don't really recall seeing his car. Care to fill me in on what kind of car you know that he owns? As for jewelry...I'm sorry but again I can't really say definitively. There's one picture I've seen on TMZ of a couple watches, some shades, a pair of earrings. That was for his ESPYs appearance and it's been hinted that he, like other college athletes (and other non-millionaires who go to award shows) do/have done, rented the bling for the night. Never really seen him decked out in jewels otherwise. Outside of that, a lot college aged kids have knock-off stuff, and college football players get some incredible gifts (a lot of times male jewelry and electronics) as bowl gifts each year. Or maybe it was all given to him by a booster...there's certainly a whole massive range of possibilities but I can tell where you're automatically going to fall no matter what.

I'm searching the internet still to this minute trying to find pictures of him wearing all kinds of nice jewelry and have really found maybe 2 or 3 pictures of him wearing the same small stud earrings, the same sunglasses and a "12" pendant at the end of a chain...unless of course you're talking about these...

Sorry I don't consider it a major drop because bucky didn't come up with a catch against all his momentum that was completely behind him. Still think he has to help out his qb there especially if he's the NFL pick we think he is, but it wasn't an easy catch.

I agree, 4-6 weeks is optimistic. I would say 8-10 weeks is more in line with reality.

Watching the replay of Elliot's 80 yard TD run, it looked to me like AM completely missed his gap assignment. But as has been pointed out many times on here, if you're going to crowd the box and have no safety, if they break through the line it's likely going to be a big play. Live by the sword, die by the sword...

Brewer getting injured doesn't explain the total collapse of the defense.

Edit: I've read the responses, and while I sympathize, our defense got beaten last night. Yes, the Brewer injury was a let down, but that does not explain the complete lapse of Bud's defensive unit. I don't mean it as a slight towards the defensive personnel, as I think it was more the strategy that failed to make the right adjustments. And I do realize that OSU has talent all over the field.

I see some better explanations of the lapse below. OSU's adjustments in the second half were a lot better than Bud's.

A couple overlooked stats that get undermined by the loss:

- We converted all of our possessions inside the redzone. All 2 of them, but we still got TDs out of them, not FGs.
- Even with the struggling offense in the second half, we still averaged over 4.6 yards per play. Without doing the math, I've got to believe our O was numerically doing well in the first half with Brewer.
- AJ averaged 43 yards per punt after averaging 39 last year. That includes some of the short field, "pin them deep" punts.
- When we were able to get OSU to 3rd downs, they only converted 33.33% of them. We finished with ~47% conversion rate.

Seems to be a matter of perspective. Motley supporters would say it was an outstanding, very difficult throw he made. Detractors say it was ill-advised and lucky it ended the way it did.

I don't know where I stand on him but he got thrown into a tough situation against the most talented defense he'll see all year. The performance last night isn't something that gives me concern for the rest of the year. With that said, if the coaches feel someone else is a better option it's hard not to defer to their judgment.

For sure. As I watched most of those games in-person, your assessment is true based on my recollections and observations. It's a real shame we never got to redshirt Tyrod, but he was a special QB then, and I think he will prove to be one in the League now.

yes, but we did take the knee when it was still a game. They really started to try to run it out once it was clear that we needed something like a return for a TD to even keep hope alive. It's gonna happen, especially when your offense isn't even trying to manage the clock when down multiple scores.

Let's not get revisionist here. Tyrod provided spark at points that year (the Clemson game was a big one), but he absolutely didn't soar "the rest of the season." Glennon guided the offense to the wins over GT, FSU, Miami, UVA who was actually still good then, and BC in the ACCCG while Tyrod was pretty much the change-of-pace guy like Motley is now.

Now, if you want to say Tyrod soared through 2008 after taking over for Glennon, the floor is yours, good sir.
