There was one super douche a few rows in front that almost got in a fight after 14-0. Then by the half he was quiet and he didn't do anything the second half

He was standing on the sidelines looking like he really did not want to be either at the game or take Motley's place under center. Either way, not a real confidence builder for me as a fan, but like I said above, I just hope it was the shock of seeing a fellow teammate get hurt and that as the Furman game approaches, the kid can get straight.
5) The health of Kendall Fuller and Brandon Facyson, who I can't remember seeing in the 4th quarter is worrisome.
The radio broadcasters were saying it was just cramps, not a major health concern. I did notice that Fuller was back on the field for their next possession after they scored the TD that got them to 42.
The best way to describe my feelings this morning is probably, "This is why we can't have nice things!"

ECU doesn't have their new QB either. The guy that was supposed to take over this year for Carden went down over the summer.

The run game was decent-ish and we had a lot more manageable 3rd downs than we have in the past. They put Nijman in real quick and announcers didn't single him out as getting beaten a lot, so I feel good about that. Just give him 20000 calories a day so he can keep gaining weight :)
2. I don't have the scheme knowledge of the staff/contributors here, but it did look like MLB was a big issue. I'm just not sure if the DL got dominated, AM54 was given a different role, or he really was just as tentative as feared. I look forward to the reviews coming up.
3. It's disappointing to read (and watch) how conservative VT became on offense after Brewer got hurt. I hope that VT goes all in on read option and aggressive playcalling moving forward to take advantage of what Motley may be able to do. I'm not sure I need to see Jet Sweeps too many more times though. Doesn't seem like VT has the ability to seal/reach the defenders necessary to make that work often.
4. I have a question: How is it that teams are able to seemingly play cover 2 or cover 4 against VT and be able to both stop the run and prevent vertical passing game? It looked like tOSU safeties were generally about 10-12 yards back and CBs were generally bailing at the snap. VT took very few shots downfield, and generally got small gains in the run game. Bucky got very few targets so I assume he was seeing a bit of double coverage, meaning there should have been some passing opps. Was VT outmanned, out-executed, out-schemed, or do I just not know what the hell I'm talking about?

I am curious based on the BTN show how he is already in the "riches" category. Very nice apartment, nice car and jewelry.
The pieces that are missing are that he's been defined by that tweet. It was dumb, he's acknowledged as much...but the story goes that he was a 20 year old who was mad after getting a B on an exam he studied extremely hard for. He was named a Scholar Athlete weeks after that tweet. He's been an honor roll student at OSU and skipped out on being a 1-3 round pick and immediate NFL riches...because he says he wants to be the first in his family to get his degree and for the sake of his daughter considers a degree more important than playing in the NFL.
The OSU fanbase loves him because of the wins last season, but a lot of people pull for him for the starting job because he's always known as a fun loving guy and is widely reguarded as a fun twitter follow. Aside from that, people got to get a glimpse into what he's like and where he came from as a result of his success. He's your classic rags to riches success story. I don't think the Bleacher Report article really goes into his youth that deep, but he came from a very rough situation in Cleveland. But even beyond that...he's had to keep his cool and take one for the team until his number was called. It's just an uncommon and happy story.
The beating the kid in Madden was all in joking and good fun. He's friends with the kid and visits him regularly. What the Bleacher Report article also doesn't take into account is how active he is in the community. Pretty soon after OSU won the title last season it wasn't uncommon to hear people report Cardale showing up to help out with some sort of charitable effort. One of the ones I recall specifically...

Conner only played a little over a quarter had 2td and 80 yds backup rushed for over 200 and Their bet player Boyd was suspended for the game.
French may be able to confirm this, but it seems that the vast majority of Loeffler's zone-read is really a predetermined play. I don't see a lot of reading going on, just the fake of the possibility of the QB running.
That makes sense with Brewer, you don't need him taking hits on zone reads. Maybe with Motley, they told him to hand it off to maintain his health. But it seems for Motley could be effective if he actually runs the true zone-read.
I think James Conner is the most important player to his team in the ACC. Really sucks for him.
Yeah, I'll jump on the Kramer wagon. They played well and they beat us. I don't like it but overall the OSU guests here have not been rubbing our faces into it.

I was in North and every seat was taken and the stairways were packed. I was very happy to see that it also stayed that way until about the start of the forth quarter.
Yep, I saw three. Two of them were directly behind me and some of the students standing there fell down on top of us. NEZ definitely doesn't feel safe to sit in, but damn if it wasn't rocking last night. I'm just a little too hung over to be sitting in class right now.
We may not play another team like that for a good 13 years.
Losing your starting QB in the first game when the rest of the team might be the best we've had in many years is just about the most Hokie thing ever.
Hoping for his quick recovery, buty excitement for the rest of the reason has gone down a good bit.

Buckeye fan here. I really enjoyed the matchup with you guys. I'm a member of eleven warriors, and the guys over there referenced this site prior to the matchup. I've read a few articles here and the comments. Just wanted to let you guys know this is a quality site and most of your fans have been pretty classy in the build up to the game. I feel bad for the injury to your quarterback. It was a great (and nerve racking) game until that point. Hope he has a speedy recovery. I also hope you guys win the ACC (and not FSU or Clemson). Good luck on the rest of your season.
