I know Harbaugh was just using gamesmanship to try to distract Tyrod on that play, thats just his style. Was more of a joke. I also know the game didn't end at halftime.
I respect the coach. Turned around Stanford and the Niners in short order with a lot of the same players that were not successful before he got there. But he is kinda out there.
I hope he does give anOSU some pressure, they don't really have anyone pushing them.

I'm all for rubbing it in. This is football, not little league baseball. I often think Frank plays too conservative when having a lead. UNless it is some overmatched FBS scrub, drop the hammer.

It was from a classy move but Stanford won 40-12 and we didn't score in the 2nd half so they definitely weren't up 40 at any point in the 4th quarter.

It really is an incredible stroke of luck that this game set up this way. I don't know what the Powers that Be were thinking when they scheduled it, but I'm sure they didn't expect it to be the "most anticipated game in the history of Lane Stadium."

The cheese thing makes it close, but sausage gravy pulls out the win.
Great piece. A good point is that, outside of Minnesota (who didn't run a bear front), no other team consistently trusted their secondary to hold up in man-coverage and drop a safety into the box. Indiana probably did it the most.
I know that this article focuses on the run, but one thing that OSU did to combat the bear was to throw the ball to Elliot in the flat to get him one-on-one with a linebacker in space. That strategy killed Kent State and Maryland, but teams later in the year adjusted better.
Also, something that OSU did to deal with the free safety coming down into the box was to have the receiver on that side crack down on the linebacker and have the pulling guard lead up on the safety instead of that linebacker. Again, the aggressiveness of our 3-techs makes this more difficult, but it's something the back 7 has to be aware of...
Finally, because of the aggressiveness of that 3-tech, I would expect to see some midline option.

Recognized John Doman's voice immediately, he played Major Rawls in The Wire. Currently re-watching it. Amazing if anyone hasn't seen it.
Fun fact that started as Hokie Moses when we played Alabama. He was "Parting the Red Sea(Crimson Tide)" and turned into Hokie Leonidas after adding on additional props.
I can agree with that. Harbaugh was a total jackass (assuming it was his call) to have the players shift around (to that extent) in what was perceived to be a show boating fashion but I have zero issue with him and his team keeping their foot on the gas pedal in that situation.
