Urban said it was the loudest place he's ever been.

Once you've lost to an FCS team, can you really get that mad about losing to another one?

Way to jinx it, man!
TIMEOUT!
All kidding aside I think * should be higher just due to their fanbase being a bunch of dicks for the most part and all the talking heading picking against us. I hate the thought of meeting everyone's expectations...
We are just as loud if not louder at 66k vs 100+k
PSU 2014 you reference last year: 111 decibels

VT FSU 2011: 113 decibels

This game will no doubt exceed FSU 2011. Biggest game in school history monday night. Lane Stadium packs a mean punch at its best
Kudos for the Hokies posting this on 11 Warriors

I'm not your guy, buddy
The way I see things what we have in our favor, and I don't think anyone else has said, is that we are going into this game with nothing to lose. We are unranked facing the #1 team as 13+ point underdogs, we're supposed to lose and a loss would not derail our season, where as a win would be a potentially huge boost.
While for an OSU they come in with everything to lose, they are the #1 team playing an unranked team and they are supposed to prove that last year's loss was a fluke. A win is expected and would mean little in the grand scheme of things, while a loss could be potentially devastating.
I see the possibility of our guys coming out loose and fired up to "take down Goliath" again and the OSU players probably coming out loose, but tightening up quickly if things stay close for too long. If we keep it close I could see them feeling the pressure, and trying to force things.
This could really work in our favor.
I think it's important to note that our stadium may or may not be the loudest, but we have an argument for being consistently loud throughout the game. Many stadiums only get loud on 3rd down. Our fans will be loud from kickoff until the end. So Penn State may have been louder at some point, but few games I've seen have fans as loud as we can be for as long as we have gone in past games. And it doesn't die at the end of the game either. Just look at that Miami video. I would regularly have absolutely no voice for 2 days after the game and I miss those days dearly...
YouTube videos with "Bosnia", "Ganga" have examples of the highlanders doing this. It's not pleasant music but you can hear the volume spike when they hit dissonant notes. Almost made a separate post about this. Not too late for somebody to pick that up!
Short of injuries I don't know why you would do this. We have seen the multiple headed monster fail over and over again. Hopefully it is all smoke and mirrors...
I would think it would take a lot longer to learn the plays and leadership at the QB position.
I won't say that we're necessarily louder than Penn State. But we're very proud of the fact that we're as loud as we are for only having 66,000 fans. At nearly 150% Lane's capacity, PSU had better be just as loud, if not louder. We might be the loudest stadium per capita in the country.
So how does it make more sense that we have a guy who plays "the most critical position on the field" be a starter with ZERO college snaps, but a guy who plays a much less critical position needs experience before starting next year?
LSU fans to OSU fans?

it maddens me every season
For some reason, I feel very strongly that this should be a euphemism, but I just can't come up with anything.

I like to get an insider's perspective on their program.
So you're an admitted masochist? I mean the first step to recovery is admitting you have a problem. Good for you!
Before the game last year I was hoping that we would at least trade wins with them. I never thought in a million years that a) we would beat them in the shoe (but I was there and it was awesome) and b) that when we played them at home they would be the unanimous #1 team coming off a national championship run. I would love to sweep them but I just don't see it happening. If we do lose this game, though, we'll always have that win from last year. I'd much rather go 1-1 than 0-2 and I'm glad that we're not counting on a win this year to get to 1-1
They keep telling me I need to skip middle school altogether and just go straight to ninth grade, but I dont think Im ready to give up nap time and getting snacks from my mom just yet.
At least we might be on a 1-game winning streak!
... or knowing how VT operates, we'll be on a 2-game losing streak.
That's my sarcastic post for the week, it's all positivity from here through Monday. I'll just let myself out.
There's my meds! Damn it, VTGuitarMan how'd you find my stash? Ok, I'll share, just remember to pass it back.
It also lets you build confidence. I tore an ACL three years ago now and it's always in the back of my mind. That stuff never really goes away but it lessens overtime.
I feel you. Going to be insane on Monday.

Dang it! If the camera had been just a little to the right I would have been in that picture.
