But what if Shai is already confident? By all reports, he's ready and eager to get back on the field. And the reciprocal to the conditioning argument above is the threat of rust after a year of relative complacency. Now this would be another conversation with Marshawn, who will be returning from ACL tear halfway through the season. Conditioning will be a big factor there, because he won't have done summer conditioning and would be dropping straight into live game situations. But Shai has come back gradually, and looks great in practice. I don't think there's any reason to be concerned he isn't in proper football shape.

Agreed. Our rbs tore it up that game:

Shai 7 carries 7 yards 1 YPC
Marshawn 12 carries 20 yards 1.7 YPC
JC 3 carries 16 yards 5.3 YPC

Our leading rusher was newsome with jet sweeps and 38 yards. You have to be kidding...

I'm not sure that is in the spirit of the question

I guess that's my whole issue with hypotheticals like this. What is the question actually asking?

If we trotted that 2007 defense out onto the field today, it would get burned by some modern offenses.

If we took that personnel and played our current defense, I don't think that roster would be as adept at it because they weren't recruited to play that scheme.

Is it asking me if I wish it was 2007 again instead of 2015? No, I'll take the post-Stinespring era every time.

Just based on the "spirit of the question," I'll take the 2015 defense, because that's the one I'll watch throttle anOSU on Monday.

My point is that the best back in two months is when half the season is over. Redshirt. But I also think Trey and Travon are good enough to carry the rock this year.

Love the reference....then I noticed your avatar. Awesome. I need that to be the lock screen on my phone or something.

I dont take it personally, but the Buckeye players and staff did. I'm expecting to win a close, competitive game because of all the factors like lane stadium at night, first game, suspensions, etc. But part of me knows our teams were in different universes at the end of the season. If we can start where we left off (not expecting it, necessarily) then it will be a blood bath.

unfortunately, the opponent doesn't care so much about per capita stats. They care how little they can think with their ears ringing. I think we'll get that done just fine...

This settles it. Someone needs to do a version of Bane's mask in maroon and orange and make that their shtick at games, in the vein of Leonidas of Blacksburg or the maroon fro guy with the lunchpail.

Do Yall get up to Ohio often? If so where?
