I work for Amazon managing a large number of their warehouses.

My SO is more Hokie than I am. Her dad grew up in Blacksburg and went to VT. She's been tailgating/going to football/basketball games since she was 2. She's been to New Orleans for the Nat'l Championship game and she knows plenty about players past and present. She has a beta fish named Ernie after Ernest Wilford. She doesn't give me a hard time at all for my fandom.

It's not 100% clear to me whether the penalties are additive or cumulative. If the former, then they're losing tickets to 15 games - that's 2.5 years (assuming they only get tickets to home games), which seems really crazy. I figured it was a "total bill" of sorts, but then too, that doesn't make sense if it also involves tickets to "next X games..."

I have no idea. Poor implementation all around.

...and we've gotten to the point where I have to step in and say this sub-thread should die now that we're just sniping at each other and throwing out BS. Be nice to each other.

Is it time for football yet?

The total in fines for 7 "improper garment" offenses is $3800 - so, I'm not sure where the extra money would come from, if a player was actually defiant or super careless.

I judge it based on via the fall equinox...but in all seriousness it actually is based around football season. Once tech kicks off that OSU game its officially fall

...everybody I work with has been asking me how many days until college football season starts...

Because I've known the answer since about June or so.

Edit: I may have a problem

As good a DL as this year is looking to be the best is yet to come: mihota - settle - sobczcak - hill/fullwood

this is the line that is going to destroy offenses. book it

My point is the value they get is not commensurate to the value they provide, as a whole.

how much do you think it would cost for you to pay national television for a 3 hour slot to highlight your skills? now times that by 12 or 13. that sir, is called free publicity and marketing of your brand. it's precisely the reason why nfl rookie contracts went up from tens of thousands to millions. so tell me again about the value they aren't getting?

YEAH GUYS STAY ON TOPIC!!!! UGH I HATE THIS WEBSITE SO MUCH BECAUSE THREADS DEVOLVE INTO SUB-THREADS ABOUT UNRELATED STUFF!!!!! /s....heavy, heavy sarcasm there

Independent Insurance Agent
Basically I work from home saving businesses and individuals money $$ on all different types of insurance. Home, Auto, Motorcycle, Health or Gen Liability,Work Comp, etc. Anybody here like to save $$$?

I also teach SAT, GRE,and LSAT test prep at JMU.

Classy move USA network.

I was there for the first VT visit after joining ACC and I think there were more of us than them. Imoh ran for 240+ and we kicked their a$$es. Afterward, people in town were asking why we were all there. We just kept saying, "welcome to the ACC"

Let's keep our heads about us.

Until THIS year, there was no stipend at all. So while fines aren't correct for the current environment, I can see how a prior fine-based system might have morphed a bit and become what we see on the screen above.

And while it would result in bad PR, the idea wasn't really so ludicrous. Who here HASN'T been subject to a fine at some point to encourage some discipline? I'm guessing most of us at some point have paid a late fee or penalty.

As far as the student athletes go, their room and board is paid for, and the subsidy is on top of that, which is a pretty righteous deal in a period when most students leave school with at least some college-related debt, while their parents dip into their life savings to pay their costs.

I agree with Whit, but mostly because of the one-sided publicity firestorm that the media would likely invoke, not because these students are too broke to pay a fine or two when they don't follow the rules.

1. You can't just trot out a couple of examples and declare them representative of the other 120+ games that we've played in the past decade. Not even sure I would count those 2012 games on the same level as Miami, Wake, and ECU last year. Also, the a couple of those losses weren't to truly bad teams like Purdue or Furman. These games happen, but not terribly often, hence the outlier statement.

2. Scoring 0 points in regulation isn't an outlier? How often does that happen?

3. How often does a Bud Foster defense give up 30 points at home (7 times)? How often does a Bud Foster defense give up 30 points at home for a night game (4 times)? These are rare occurrences

From what Bud said yesterday, Dadi is hesitating to use it to jam the tackle because of the pain it causes him. That makes it hard to set the edge. However, apparently it should cease being tender here soon and he should be full go with just a soft cast on that hand, so hopefully he will be broken of any of those habits quickly.

FWIW, he looked like his old self in the scrimmage. Very explosive and disruptive. I think he just needs to get reps and knock some rust off.

I'm sure many are lost. DBHT14 and I are good friends who give each other plenty of shit. I was medically downed all summer for a sinus issue, so I basically collected a paycheck to improve my Madden skills and go to the beach. Now I'm flying again and he jelly cause he's stuck in an office while I go scare the piss out of flight instructors.

Actually, that very well may be the answer, he just can't admit it out loud.

We were there, probably near a firepit or two. Glad you stopped by and feel free to return. We get better with age!

My times at UNC have been similar, and opposite. I've met some relaxed and cool ones. And have had security on me repeatedly....
