I went to my first game at Lane when I was 2 months old. My daughter didn't go to her first game until she was 11 months, but that was the Sugar Bowl win versus Texas so she enjoyed it.
I love Beamer and the rest of the coaching staff but this is unacceptable. Don't try to tell me it isn't. A lot of these kids would not go to college without an athletic scholarship. You're going to take some of that away from them for being late to a team meal or not wearing acceptable equipment? Punish them by running, less playing time, or suspension. Don't take away money from these kids though.
I don't like on 11w you can't tell what's new since you were last there. Comments are straight up and down and you can't jump to comments from a comments board. I think TKP has by far the best user interface.
The only thing that I find disturbing about these fines is that the coaches are allowing a player to wantonly commit the same offense EIGHT times and not be kicked off the team.
Future Mrs. and I have are driving UP from Ohio, seeing as VT owns this state :O
In 11w's method, all 3rd replies and beyond start out collapsed before you've read anything, so you have to click "show all" every time, or click the arrow on every single thread you're interested in - even for the new stuff. So not the same as what hokie07 is requesting.
I like this idea.
What I do NOT like is pre-collapsed comments (11w just got collapsible threads, but the first time you load it the third comment down and beyond is auto-collapsed, new or not, so you only see the original and one reply). It is annoying to have to click "show all comments" when you haven't even read them the first time yet.
(of course, at 11w, there is also no way to reset fat-finger votes, and you still get helmet stickers just for posting a comment - which is why I think some of their forum topics get hundreds of useless replies - guys fishing for automatic upvotes; thanks for the beneficial changes here, Joe!)
well my thinking is that collapsed comment threads are already personalized. If I collapse one, it's still collapsed next time I view the page, but obviously not for anyone else. So, the first time I see a thread, nothing is collapsed (just like right now the first time I see a thread everything is yellow). When I've read comments once, 99% of the time I don't need to see them again.
probably just one. The rest are pissed and bitter.
If that makes it look like the 11W site then I say NO. That site is so poor compared to TKP.
Having 3 down linemen does not = a VT defense. Bud's players don't read and react, they get to where they need to be based on the call and hold their gap, with unblocked free hitters coming up to make the play. That's about as rare as GT's spread option offense. Bama played a particularly passive front and Elliott was able to get downhill before Bama's backers had a chance to figure out where the ball was going. I'm not saying VT will dismantle OSU or even win, but this game will look closer to the game played last September than any games played in January.
Cinci be all like:

And all of a sudden no one can look away or even think about anything but.
The girls soccer program has been doing pretty well the last couple of years. Hopefully this is sustained. The boys program let a great coach get away and hasn't done as well since.
Given how this entire topic has dominated the site today (and probably tomorrow but hopefully not), I can't help but think that it has been a major topic for the players/coaches the past day -------> WHICH IS BAD. We need to diffuse this media bomb and get back to preparing for Labor Day.
I'm not sure what game you're referring to. When did the Redskins play Miami?

# | Virginia Tech Defensive Media Session: A very newsworthy chat with Bud Foster Not at all. i think its awesome to hear. Hopefully we hear that same opinion from thise outside the hokie nation when this season gets started.
I remember folks making fun of their headquarters on the Norfolk waterfront because of the environmental/ecosystem damage taken to build it.

Director/ Technical Director for mid-market TV station local live television news... and beef cattle farmer!
I never expect opposing teams to provide decent tickets. But I would Iike to thank you for buying tickets through the Hokie Club.

I want to try something like this. Virginia Tech custom Fire truck tailgate vehicle.
Not true , VT plays a run strong team they slide Woody in and Marshall out and Dadi plays that is
a 5 front, did it against Pitt several years back and I would rather have Corey at DE than one of the freshman.
Should a injury occur . I agree Coreys best spot is DT but he is a capable DE . We are deep at DT so we have 6 DT Vinney can play and 5 DE Corey can slide out if necessary. The key is we have a bunch of guys we can mix and match and Bud has done things with these groups before .
It is the NFL. You have a starter until he is broken. Tyrod is the man.
This is more comparable to a parent withholding a child's allowance as punishment. Said child still has all needs, but disposable income is held back.
I guarantee our defense will be the main topic of conversation when discussing us

I find that I just wait to buy tickets through the school. For games like Purdue, there are usually plenty available. I picked up 50 yard line 7 rows up for ticket office prices. Still plenty of tickets in that section available.
