Screw this shit coach, I'm going to Athens.
Her punch didn't land, and even if it did, he's big enough and strong enough that she wouldn't hurt him.
And what if the next thing she did was pick up a broke glass or bottle.
No, he had the right to stop the attack was it was still ineffectual.
Is he supposed to wait until she does hurt him?
So your argument is that because he's much stronger than her, he has no right to defend himself against one attempted punch, a knee to the gut/groin, and another punch? Sorry, I'm not buying it.
For all those saying he should have just walked away, have you seen the video? If there was space for that, this whole incident would not have happened.
did you even watch the full video? He starts it by shoving her out of the way to get to the bar, she confronts him about it, he grabs her arm, she tries to defend herself and he punches her in the face.

Of course he had a right to grab her arm. She was attempting to throw a punch at him (seen in the video before the point where the gif starts). You have a very valid point that he should have known better than to hit her so hard, but knowledge usually takes a backseat to instinct when another person is trying repeatedly to attack you.

I suggest reading this article about Dadi.
FFS, he could have defended himself by turning around and walking away. If he felt truly wronged he should've gone to get a bouncer. Oh wait, he was the jerk who cut in front of people and the bouncer would've thrown his ass out.
Punching someone in the face who can't seriously harm you isn't defending yourself, it's going on offense.
He can defend himself just fine by deflecting her weak strikes and by walking away. After all he's the one who cut the line.
Her punch didn't land, and even if it did, he's big enough and strong enough that she wouldn't hurt him. The "threat" from her was minuscule at best and didn't warrant a haymaker from an elite athlete.
A punch delivered from him has a pretty good chance of giving her a concussion or breaking her cheekbones, an extreme escalation over the small bruise she'd leave on his face with a direct hit. The appropriate response would've been for him to not strike her at all, and simply deflect any additional weak punches that she may have attempted.

If your daughter thinks it's okay to repeatedly assault a man who's done her no harm, I don't want my son anywhere near her either. Is this what equality has devolved to in our society? A man has no right to defend himself unless the assailant is another man?
No, the gif did not include all the critical parts. It starts with him holding her right arm, AFTER she cocks her fist to throw a punch. We are led to believe that his grabbing her arm is an act of aggression on his part when it's actually a case of him defending himself. Then she proceeds to knee him in either the package or gut. After that she punched him with her left hand. She attempted to assault him 3 times, and succeeded twice. It's fair to argue that perhaps he responded too forcefully, but to claim that the guy had no right to defend himself is asinine.

Looking at the video she seems upset he is pushing his way up to the bar and is really drunk and takes offense to it. It looks like she got bumped into him and sort of connected. One of my life rules is don't get drunk and start fights.

To be fair, he kinda ran out of backfields last season.
