I don't think anyone was 'shredding' Stinespring, merely making a joke. Not even a mean spirited one, in my view, unless I missed something. If anything, the Newsome pic was more joking than the Stinespring comment, and it was also totally innocuous.

I also saw him and Moorehead at dinner at Bull n Bones last night and I'm pretty sure they both spent more time on the phone (I'm guessing with recruits, but almost certainly work related) than actually eating. Dudes haven't stopped working just cause the season's over.
I know ND has a reputation for paying low scale, like Boston College, but I find it completely inaccurate to presume Brey makes that little. These salary charts are notoriously inaccurate.

I don't know if players look at this site, or even know about it...maybe they do, maybe they don't. Do you think it would be awkward for players like Hodges, for instance, to come on here and see us still shredding Stinespring (who would be his position coach, if I'm not mistaken)? I mean, I was never Stiney's biggest fan as the OC but we have a new OC now and Stiney has humbly moved into a smaller role. I think that shows tremendous character for him and I respect him for sticking with VT. He really loves VT and the players he coaches. I think we should show him some respect.

Buzz calling Trevor out like that was hands down the best way to find out whether he is the right competitor to have on his team. And it's safe to say he is not. There's plenty of other potential Hokies out there to choose from!
PETA definitely was way out of line, but I still do understand those who refuse to support anything that he is involved in. Just because he served his time doesn't mean we have to welcome him back with open arms. If someone were to do something terrible to a family member, you wouldn't just welcome them back after they serve their prison sentence. Some people see what he did as an unforgivable act.
Remember, the only account we have and are likely to get of this is third hand from the transferring plays father. Let's keep things in perspective.

Exactly, there is prior history here. Thompson was obviously still butthurt over the "soft" comment in recruiting. He was probably showing his dissatisfaction with the hire in both his body languangr and facial expressions, shoot he may have even asked for the transfer prior to the meeting, only to have Coach Williams say "hear me out through the meeting and then decide."

One thing I was curious about regarding the Baseball team. Is our marketing deal regarding logos strictly for football only? The reason I bring it up is that the team has worn the T inside the V logo this season and I thought it had been retired by the entire athletic department. I would love to get one of those baseball jerseys as I am a big fan of that logo.
That's part of what I mean. For example, it was widely reported that Buzz was paid $2.8 mil in 2012. It was also reported in some circles that he was paid $1.8 mil. i only saw one report that actually put out the detail that he was paid $1.8 mil and that 'Team Buzz LLC' was paid $1 mil as a one time bonus. All the reports that show coaches making X dollars with no other income are completely wrong. Every coach has auxillary income from TV to camps to shoe contracts, etc. Many of these charts do not show the entire incomes for coaches, and the most unreliable ones are those for private universities. Brey's ND contract might have called for him to get $616K, but you can be sure he also had other income from Nike or TV or camps, etc. Just as Johnson's contract was for $271K with $409K 'extra income' for a total of $680K.
That's my original point - the media gets coaches' income wrong nearly 100% of the time. Same with their supposed buyouts, too.
