Most of his tweets don't give me the best feeling about our chances. It's a tough time for FL recruits to visit considering this is about as cold as it's been in VA in the last several years.

Seth had to go but JJ was a bad choice from the beginning and has looked much worse every game he's coached. He's gotta go. Now.

Let's take hoops seriously, Babcock.

DAMN YOU GRIMES. THE WORST PART IS THAT I BELIEVE AND STILL BELIEVE EVERYTHING YOU SAY AND YOU'VE SAID.

He did a great job. I almost feel like he didn't want to work for LSU but that they just had more cash on offer for him. Hopefully Searels will be a longer contract and things will go well with him. I also hope the LSU wins all games but ones against us and teams I like better than LSU.

I don't mention NAT'l championship games because all of those will be against us.

I can't think of a guy with a more opposite build from LT3 than Drew Brees.

No insult as I'm sure LT would learn tons but I would wonder if the NFL will let Drew ride around on LT's shoulders as some sort of megaplayer.

I wish him well, but dang would have loved to keep him a couple more years.

By that logic, it's not a violation if a fan of a school gives a player a no-show/no-work job since they aren't part of the school. Wait, it can be a violation.

Well in one case, a fan is giving an amateur athlete benefits for play. In the other, a fan is talking to an amateur athlete.

If you really want to risk putting VT in hot water because you believe it's your God-given right to talk to a 17 year old on Twitter, go right ahead.

I think it's beyond imagination to think that the NCAA would ever crack down on Virginia Tech because I wanted to tweet a recruit.

So many unknowns. QB will certainly be a HUGE question mark. Ohio State could be ugly but I think we find a way to keep it under 2 TDs. I am really worried about ECU - they return a lot and always play us tough. UNC will be a handful at their place. I think we get Pitt and get payback on the Dookies. Through Orange and Maroon glasses, I see 8 or 9 wins.

After reading all the replies surprisingly this one makes the most sense to me. Never was impressed by Alex Smith and I could see Logan taking over for him after a year or two. Smith manages and throws the check down way too often and I think Logan's arm opens up the Kansas City offense more while still giving him a ridiculous safety blanket in Jamall Charles.

"Although it is technically illegal, who is to tell a booster that they cannot tweet at someone who their money is going towards?"

The NCAA. And the schools who say not to tweet recruits and leave recruiting to the professionals.

Agreed that ECU is a big trap game. I see losses to OSU, UNC. Coin flips for ECU, Pitt and GT.

  • ECU is typical trap game (for previous sited reasons).
  • UNC started playing to potential towards the end of the year. If they come back improved... Watch out.
  • GT... I'm worried about how our defense will fair without Kyle Fuller.
  • Pitt just BBC they're a physical team, and I don't fully trust the hokies after a buy week (except for when it's GT).

I don't think there's a black-and-white answer to this. Talking as a undergrad, I think it is okay for us to reach out to potential student-athletes because of the age similarity. As previous posts said, I think there comes a point where reaching out to high school kids as an adult can be creepy. But where does one draw the line between age appropriate and creepy? Although it is technically illegal, who is to tell a booster that they cannot tweet at someone who their money is going towards? It's a tricky subject.

Stay classy Coach Grimes, you left VT a better place. (Still hope Bama unleashes a Decade of Dominance on LSU though) I will not be bitter, I will not be bitter, I will not be bitter...
