i find this to be a little ridiculous, its twitter and if they make a decision based off people tweeting at them, they oh boy they have some problems. The NCAA is a joke, I think it has more to do with media personnel/ big time car dealerships/anyone that can give benefits.
Its funny how once they sign a LOI or commit on national signing day everything is ok to tweet at them especially racial and rude comments, but not before. Makes 0 sense to me.

I've never really paid much attention to the AD position aside from complaining about our scheduling and complaining about not having stick it in.
Can some of the more enlightened folks tell me what should stand out?
That guy is amazing. I love watching him, like the old saying goes, Poetry in motion.
You do you, but I don't see why it's necessary to include their Twitter handle. Just use their name. Say "Glad we picked up Nnadi today." Follow them on Twitter if you want, but tweeting at them isn't necessary regardless of how much they enjoy the attention. These guys are 17 and 18 years old. Of course they love getting more followers. It has become a symbol of social status. And yes, they love being talked about because it inflates their ego, but the same message is conveyed by not tagging them and just using their name and it doesn't violate any NCAA bylaws.

So you're saying I can't tweet at recruits and offer them strippers, drugs, wads of cash, etc. if they commit to VT?
No, he's not a bad QB. But he's not better than Joe Flacco, or about half of the QBs (at least) in the league right now.
That's how I feel too. If you're excited that a player is coming to play for you, you want to say "Hey cool X just committed to us." They're on twitter. It's not like you're sending them a message "OI HEY, GO TO MY SCHOOL." You're saying "Hey friends and followers. Check this guy out. He plays that sport we like."
It's against the NCAA rules and it's creepy.

Tyrod isn't that bad. Plenty of people thought he was the best deal the Ravens got for the draft that year.
The ability to shoot free throws late in games, the ability to come off a ball screen cleanly, the ability of big men to take the ball with their back to the basket and reliably get a real shot, the ability of anyone other than Devin to drive the lane to create. These basic fundamentals of basketball are missing on this team and there is only one person I put that on and that's the Head Coach.
Great points, but other than screening correctly, and knowing whether to go under or over a screener, I would argue these other things to do not point to a lack of fundamentals, but more a lack of players fitting the description, as it were. They lack the correct skillset.
For example, not having a guy who plays well with his back to the basket is a general MBB problem. Not really a fundamental problem, but a skillset problem. Very few teams have a six eleven center who has a complete set of post moves. Those guys go to PITT, U of Kentucky, not VT. Same thing with having a G who can dribble drive the lane and keep or kick. Either you are a slashing penetrating guard or you are not. You can say that talent is not being developed (Wood's lack of development y1 to y2) but.... if you wanna talk lacking fundamentals...

No one on this team knows how to run a fast break except for Benbornready, and maybe CB42. Watch the next runout. You will see no one run the middle of the court. Even Devin runs the sidelines on breaks. For a team that JJ said he wants to run, the healthy players on the court sure don't look like it.
Horrid weak side rebounding position and lack of proper boxouts on free throws.
"Hands down, Man down". These guys do not put hands up on defense. I will give the Freshmen a pass but the "Seth" guys should know better. Wake forest shot the lights out.

I'm done. I fully support VT MBB but it truly seems JJ is in over his head.

I, personally, don't see a problem with a shout-out to a committed athlete as much as being and pleading for an athlete that's committed elsewhere. At what point does it become inappropriate?
I suppose the game was just so awesome that I forgot all about the rain. It probably wasn't raining too hard, at least.
I wonder what some of the powerhouse schools have to say about this... i.e. Alabama, FSU, LSU, etc...
Maryland and Purdue aren't exactly what I'd call big-time football programs.

But what am I thinking?? In the two games where he caught passes, he nearly had 2 touchdowns! That's an incredible almost-touchdown-a-game pace!
Playing at QB he only had 77 touchdowns in only 40 games as a starter! That's a measly 1.925 touchdowns-a-game ...oh, wait.
He did catch that "TD" pass from Rogers against UVA... (in addition to the awesome WF TD catch)

I saw on twitter the other day something about the HC not being able to solicit professional athletes for donations? Can anyone enlighten me on this? I would think our NFL alumni would be huge donation sources?

I agree. I was hoping French was going to give us a film review, maybe break down some of his talents, areas needing improvement. You know, where the coaches are going to play him and how to get the biggest impact on the field.
