Love the black uniforms. Would be a great look for national television and recruits love them. To the traditionalists: Wearing black uniforms would not hurt tradition or the school. We're not Alabama.
By the way, this idea has to happen. It's something ourfanbase needs, second only to bringing back "Stick it in". I feel like we've been losing our identity as fans and i want it back.

The Friday after Thanksgiving is a classic college football day. Last year's slate included:
Iowa vs. Nebraska
Ark vs. LSU
Miami vs. Pitt
Wash St vs. Wash
Oregon vs. Oregon St
However, I think the major issue is Blacksburg is ~4+ hours from about 80% of the student and alumni population. We'll see how the stadium looks, especially for a nooner. It should be noted, Miami vs Pitt was 3:30 last year.
Except for the SEC and B1G always play on the Friday after thanksgiving... Any other Friday of the year, then yes I agree.
I remember those cups, and kept a few of them for years! Sadly, all have since disappeared...

Sometimes the best thing a new AD can do is make an immediate change to show it's boosters and fans that he/she is dedicated to re-energizing the school. I believe JJ will be that change.

i turned it on with ~6:00 to go today, saw what i had to see and got the recap of what i missed from the announcers and this board. way less wear and tear on my psyche...

The most discouraging thing is while the defense is far, far worse than it ever was in the Greenberg era, the offense is still just as bad as it ever was as well. Not to mention Coach Johnson's set plays in critical situations follow the same pattern of being horribly conceived and executed. I used to love watching our basketball games because we were gritty and competed against any team, even if the games were ugly. This year I can't help but find myself turning the channel after a few minutes, and clearly many other fans are also feeling this way.
I keep trying to ignore this team. It just pisses me off to watch them play. The offense is so jilted and so many no-shit possessions. The defense is atrocious.

WMU I could buy, being "another era". But yes, even though we may have scheduled the UCF game before the MNCG, they were fresh out of I-AA (what is now called FCS), having made the transition in 1996. They had never played in a bowl game (first one of those was in 2005).
My point is, either we scheduled an away game against a I-AA team as a "bottom tier" Big East team, or we scheduled an away game against a bottom tier I-A team as a Big East and Sugar Bowl champion who had already arrived on the national scene. Everyone schedules those kinds of games occasionally, and if you include ECU we've had more than our fair share of them.

Wilson isn't the problem the past few games. He has been playing well. Smith and Emelogu were hurt.

the white face mask pretty cool and retro
i'm more of a fan of all maroon everything ... no orange. as little white as you can get away with . maroon jerseys with white numbers, front and back .. that's it. maroon pants, socks, cleats. maroon gloves. maroon helmet (matte), with a "shinier" maroon VT emblem -- just enough for some contrast. if a stripe, a single white stripe... maroon face mask, maroon war-paint, maroon rubber-band-on-your-bicep thingies if you just have to wear those worthless things ... #AllMaroonFuckinEryThing
Blacksburg may be 4 hours for most alumni but I would say most of the students live in Blacksburg. An 8+ hour commute everyday for classes would be hard to handle. ;)
