Juju did what he had to do under less than ideal situations (not starting, etc). Most of us can't remember the kid. Since the competition for starting QB in 2014 between Leal and Juju is a hypothetical (last I looked) and we're now posting stuff that isn't even germane.

Can't we just pay the kid our respect and let him be? Not saying much about Leal if we've devolved the conversation from will he start next year to well he's better than so and so. I don't know much, but Leal and Juju deserve a little more respect.

Lets have a little class

Totally unconfirmed, but some LSU folk seem to think Grimes to LSU is happening.

After a quick twitter/google search, no rumormongering from any legit sources. Only mention is embedded below.

Just want to start by saying I love your pieces, I have learned a lot about the more technical side of footall thanks to you.

My question, What happens first, a 1200-yard rusher or a 1200-yard receiver? Are those potential studs on the current roster?

My thoughts exactly if the, running game, short passing game, reliable kicker,
OL experience/communication much better, we'll be a pretty good offense. I actually think our Offense will surprise some people, just have to wait for spring to see how it shakes out.

Michigan game is in CBUS so that will likely be one. I think i read somewhere they can add a second premier game so it is possible

I think it will sell out. VT typically travels fairly well. The Horseshoe is a pretty desirable stadium for a lot of fans to visit. OSU's band is one of the best in the land and will be really cool to see. I'm planning on attending that game, and one of the big reasons is because it's a once in a life time opportunity to go to a game at the Horseshoe. I hate OSU pretty much more than any football team in America (save for half of the SEC...also, no offense Jsketch) so unless the Hokies are playing there I'll never go.

Ahh, sorry, I got mixed up on which potential exodus we were discussing. Buds deal is different and much more complicated.

If Beamer is around I'd hope that he would...but if I were Gray and Foster moved into the HC position at a notable institution and offered me a DC job I would probably follow him. Especially if CBF were coaching at a university with a more generous cash flow. I don't really see Bud leaving to coach anywhere that isn't at least on par with VT. I think it's safe to assume that when Beamer leaves (and that can't be that much longer...) Bud would have the best shot at replacing him. The only HC job that I know about (disclaimer..I haven't researched it) which interested BF was Clemson. Clemson has more money to pay Gray as DC than VT would probably offer him.

IF Bud Foster left (which I hope he doesn't..obviously) IMO I think it would be for the HC job at a prominent (and probably wealthier) D1 institution.

IF Gray were offered more money to coach under Foster ILO coaching for an arguably short amount of time under Beamer before VT needs to bring in a new HC...he should follow Foster. If Foster/Gray learned anything from CFB it should be that staff stability is pretty darn important. With Beamer's years limited Gray would probably have a better shot at stability with Foster....

I didn't see Lamonica live. The first Super Bowl I can remember watching was the Giants and Broncos. But, I am a historian of the Game and I love reading and watching videos on the NFL in the 50's, 60's, and 70's.

here is information about 2013 for reference.

Honestly, I find situations like Caleb extremely frustrating. He was THE recruit that year and for some reason we can't find a position for him to play. Everyone says he is a play maker but he's not out there making plays. I'm not really blaming the coaches. As you said, Caleb needs to force the coaches to play him, however, I think there is something in the way Hokies do business that prevents pure Athletes from succeeding.

So my question is, when was the last ATHLETE recruit that came and really made significant contribution? starter, team leader, etc. Right now I wouldn't be surprised or upset if Caleb transfers to play for another program and I am sure we will be kicking ourselves when he succeeds there.
