By the rules of the ACC, Notre Dame is supposed to be here at least once every 6 years, same as we go there.

The engineers are having locating the new building where it won't encroach on the trees or the existing fields too much. Still in design.

Whether the Drew Harris ship has sailed or not, thanks for providing this update! That whole situation was so cloudy, thanks for clearing it up a bit.

true points, but I believe the phrasing used was that "FSU gets" that he wants to play immediately. This doesn't imply that they can accommodate that or are even still interested, and having just won it all their stable of recruits are going to get much bigger and more competitive as well.

I think Ekanem will be a good player, but he is another guy whose spring game work was almost exclusively lined up over left tackle. You have to have someone emerge at the stud position. He was very active in the spring game right along with Devin Van Dyke and Deon Clarke up front, but it is worth noting that all three over committed to the dive plays and IF Logan or Leal had been keeping the ball in a real game situation, there were a ton of yards to be had on bootlegs and read option keepers. Ekanem was put into a tough position against Duke, but when your one play is getting sucked inside on a read option keeper that allowed Anthony Boone to bounce outside for perhaps the easiest touchdown he has scored as a Blue Devil, well, that is a tough spill to swallow especially when it was a game winner.

Hopefully Ekanem (or Alford) comes out like a terror in the spring and Marshall's status won't be such a worry. Right now, it is a huge worry because that spot is, along with backer and boundary corner, the three most important positions on the defense.

generating buzz over new schools in a move to leverage a contract renegotiation = genius

Or just blackedo...... Not remembered it?

I remember reading that last year. The funny thing is even though they won't admit it I'm sure 90% of the time they have the same sources.

Agreed. And a lot of teams on our schedule searching for a new QB next year: Miami, GT, Wake, Pitt, BC. And uva will have, at best, the same two they had this year. So that's half our schedule (and I have no idea, nor do I care, what W&M or WMU is doing) that will be breaking in a new QB just like we are. With ECU, OSU, UNC and Duke having strong QB situations.

UPDATE: Aint no party like a Pitbull party

Stability. Has to be in the back of his mind. Its such a rough life for assistant coaches, working at the whim not only of 18-21 year old kids, but of coaches, fanbases, administration. Anything can cause sheer destruction to your stability and homelife. Miss out on a few recruits, have a few key injuries, have a head coach get in a motorcycle wreck with his mistress, change in AD, etc.

For Stiney to leave the Shell of Protectivity offered by Frank and his staff would be a big step. But, to that end, no risk and no reward. Stiney has likely reached the pinnacle of his career if he stays. And Frank will be stepping down in the near'er future, so that protection may be coming to an end anyway.

You must've skipped the game then.

Update: source thought he overheard Stiney saying "LSU" in the hallway of VT's football offices. Apparently he was just sneezing and "Ah-choo!" sounds a lot like "LSU" when heard from afar and when motivated by generating headlines.
