French, I posted recently in another thread that I feel Motley has the best chance to "unseat" Leal this spring/summer. I saw him play twice in HS and once this past season at scrimmage; he seems to have made serious strides since HS as a passer, to compliment his athleticism. My question (s) .. some kids just seem to have that "it" factor. I see that in Motley as well as J Harrison and T McMillan.
1) Do you agree re: Motley, specifically that he has the highest ceiling of current VT qbs, including verbals
2) Having played college ball, what do you think factors in most regarding whether a D1 athlete becomes an impact player? Talent being essentially equal, that is. Smarts, work ethic .. luck/timing?
Strong Safety specifically.
The strong safety does play slightly closer to the ball than the free safety though so I can kinda understand the confustion. The main thing is "LOOK! GIFS!"
See Malzahn and Ark State. Nevermind, just see Strong and Louisville. It's a great opportunity and if you do well, you can get head coach at a school like Auburn or Texas. Great move for Morris, or any coordinator with HC aspirations.
Not to mention the no huddle is the most fun to happen to football since Beamerball was invented (which is still the most fun of anything)
In the championship game, the no huddle made pretty much won the game for FSU. It easy for the Winston and the O-line to read the Auburn defense. The no huddle offense prevented Auburn D-line and linebackers from shifting and slanting, limiting the blitzing. Loeffler needs to incorporate the no huddle to make it easier for his quarterbacks and O-line.

As far as I can tell, he kicks off the ground, which is a major plus.
The only thing that concerns me is that his kicks don't have a ton of height. If they're deep enough in the end zone (most seem like they'd be around 5 yards deep for a college kickoff), it might be enough to dissuade returners from bringing it out. Still, if he doesn't catch one solidly and the returner catches it a yard or so deep, the coverage team could be in a bit of trouble.
I completely agree. I dont think it's bad to have unrealistic expectations, just be more realistic when they dont pan out.
Go to Ukraine. Despite the political unrest of late, is MUCH more fun and generally safer. Plus even if you get caught up in their turmoil their army looks like this
Everyone, let's not feel too bad about having unrealistic expectations. My dad (a Stanford alum) just sat in on a conversation between my grandma and some other Stanford boosters. Apparently a decent chunk of the fan base wants Shaw fired for losing the Rose Bowl. The man is 34-7 with 2 conference titles in 3 years on the Farm.
The only ones that really surprise me are Kansas and KState. I know they have devout following but for some reason I just picture VT as a MUCH bigger program.
God damnit. I really need to move to Russia.
Also, she was disqualified from participating in the 2014 Winter Olympics by Russia. =(

I was there and that was that was terribly frustrating to watch. We have good athletes but not a lot of guys with high basketball IQ or awareness.
When you run plays, isn't that supposed to create movement on offense? Doesn't matter who you play, you should be able to move off the ball while running plays. I feel that is a big thing on JJ still. Does not seem like the offense has changed that much.
We just go on these ridiculous scoring droughts. It is so tough to watch sometimes.

Makes you wonder what the fan base thinks of this decision, like if he comes back he was a very successful coach but he totally bailed on them in a way that only petrino could do
