I think that this recruiting class and next year's have a chance to something special. It might not be next year, or the year after that but 2016 (more than likely Frank's last year) has a chance to be an amazing season.
I will discuss this in more detail, but what you saw from Leal isn't rust. He looked exactly the same (good and bad) in the August 17th scrimmage and the spring game as he did today. What you saw today is what he is. Decent accuracy. Mobile, but his mechanics break down under pressure. Makes bad decisions under pressure. Isn't a threat in the option game.
The OL had a good game. I am not sure why there is vitriol directed at them.

or we could light it up. next year is next year, let's just let it happen and back up our boys no matter what. after all, there have been some pretty insane true freshmen (ahem, myles jack) in the fbs these past 2 years...

I think it will be ford or durkin that gets the gig. SL wants one of his guys in there I imagine. Also Look for Holland Fisher to start at whip. If he doesn't get the spot right off the bat he will earn it before the yrs out

I kept asking where was Wright all year? Dude was bringing it. Liked Magnus too. JC was good when in the open field (struggles in the pack).
Leal struggled, though I wonder if he had had some playing time this year if it would have helped.
I agree though, open it up to some of our freshmen.
I wouldn't assume we have hit rock bottom. Next season we lose a ton of seniors on D and the players we're returning on O haven't lit up the world so far. We could drop 6-7 games next year.
He tought them the playbook? I don't even know, that'd still be Stiney's job.
