Pistol nonsense? We had some of our best and most consistent running out of the pistol.
Next question is a very valid one though. It'll be interesting to see what Grimes does with those bodies.
OSU in Columbus in T-minus 9 months and 6 days
December 31st is no time for objective opinions.
The real questions:
Will CFB demand that we do away with this Pistol nonsense and go back to basics?
Who will be next year's O-line starters?
I'm not writing off next year. Just trying to give my opinion on the roster and give as objective of an opinion as possible.
this is the kind of outlook I was hoping to see more of..thanks pajokie
Lets not write off next year just yet ... we are undefeated ya know.
it looked that way to me too..the announcers and refs disagree. Unfortunately, this isn't the NFL and that type of play won't be reviewed and there's no chance of a fine for the defender.
Yup, TE very well may be a major strength of the team next year.
Having seen the replay numerous times, it was a targeting call without question.
so posting a .gif is not constructive and therefore can't be posted...but you openly wish a nasty ailment on a kid just because he plays a physical sport in a physical manner? I thought the kid made some questionable plays, but I'm also looking at those plays through O&M shades. I expect the Refs to do their jobs. If they don't call a single penalty on the kid for all those hits then he must not be doing anything wrong.
I hated seeing Thomas go out the way he did, but let's not go around wishing diseases on kids for playing their heart out for their team.
I didn't get to see the end unfortunately, didn't look like I missed much, but was UCLA purposely running up the score? Looks from the boxscore like Hundley was throwing fifty yard bombs with a huge lead and enough time left to just run the clock out.
I think we will have some sick TEs next year in Bucky, Malleck, Cline and possibly Burke.
Can we add this guy?

That first pick.... *shudder*
I seriously doubt that...I'm not trying to slight Edmunds but McKenzie and Williams are both much more talented recruits at the position and I think one or both of them will compete for playing time right away. They're both big bruisers and they have some speed and flow. I also believe that they'll both be on campus early and will have some time to work out and learn some of the playbook. With how badly we need a feature back I'm sure it will be a wide open competition. It's not Edmund's job to lose...it's everyone's job to win.
i agree completely. Leal looked bad out there today. It was a tough matchup but...wow that was ugly.
HorseOnATreadmill, I'm going to briefly quibble with your point number 2 that it wasn't helmet to helmet. sbnation posted a .gif of the hit, and it shows #35's helmet going straight into LT's chin. Here's the link to the website; I don't want to post the .gif in this forum because it's not constructive: http://www.sbnation.com/lookit/2013/12/31/5261570/logan-thomas-myles-jac...
Either way, I think that we all can agree that #35 was an intolerable a-hole head-hunter throughout the game. They even showed a compilation video of him head-hunting at one point. So much for concussion awareness and sensitivity...
I hope he develops a terrible case of diverticulitis.
Unless Trey Edmunds falls way behind schedule in his rehab I don't think the RB battle will be all that interesting. It's his job to lose and both McKenzie and Williams will probably RS.
I really like Stanford tho. He has come a LONG way. But honestly Harrison and Phillips will be better wrs. Prolly 2 of the better WR recruits we have had in awhile
Definitely a distinct possibility.
CBS had him as defensive player of the game.
The sideline chick at least had the common sense to commend him for the interception and not the personal foul that should have been an ejection.
Those guys at CBS seemed to be looking forward to the offseason, though they did study up on the team. They should have had a better angle on the hit itself. They kept going back to some very strange camera angles. CBS needs to hire someone from FOX or ESPN to get their camera work stuff straight.
negative nancy makes me sad :/

D'oh. Good catch.
Edited.
