Looks like he's an RB/LB, so my guess is he will play LB with the lack of depth there compared to RB, where we have a crowd. No ranking on 247 or Rivals, that I could see.

I've been working on examples of how the CFP bowls work based on the last three years, and have run into one major problem: The SEC has had two teams in the top three in the last three years. I also ran into the Oregon/Stanford problem twice, where the conference champion was actually ranked a spot lower than the loser of the head to head matchup.
I have to imagine that the CFP committee would take the Iron Bowl into consideration and not include Alabama, since it would be an almost immediate rematch.
But the other problem they have is where they say they will try to seed the teams so the top two don't have a huge geographic disadvantage. However, this year in the cycle, the semifinals would be the Fiesta and Peach Bowls...FSU and Auburn both have geographic claims on the Peach Bowl, but not the Fiesta.

My biggest problem with the BCS is how they prided themselves on always getting #1 vs #2 in the title game. Well, no shit when you manipulate and create the polls that say who's #1 and #2.
I still don't agree that Alabama was the #2 team in December 2011.

Overall I am happy with what I saw this year (other then the losses that should not have been) and am looking forward to seeing the direction this team takes in the future. This team, although the win/loss column does not reflect it, looked better than previous years.

I have been thinking about this for a little while as well. I see pro's and cons but what really stood out was when I talked to an good friend of mine who played at OSU a couple years ago and he said... What really sucks is not being able to be with your family and friends on christmas, new years/new years day. If we were to have a 16 team playoff just think how difficult it would be to spend time with family...
Just my thought.. might be a little lame but most of these kids are still 21-23 and family is important.

I thought the same way in 2005, when we lost to a 8-4 or 7-5 FSU. But looking at the bigger picture, it always works in cycles. We've benefited from the format, like Duke did this year. Otherwise, we would have had another Clemson/FSU rematch, and Clemson probably would have been beaten down again.

Oh dear lord, that's exactly why I have issues with the SEC. And it was really bad in 2011 when you could see ESPN lobbying for the LSU/Alabama rematch. They have an enormous amount of control over college football. Not only do they employ a lot of people who vote and rank, but they are generally the #1 source of information for everyone else.

And that's why I tossed out the point of best team does not always equal champion, but you also explained that point.
I'm just tired of whenever Alabama loses a game, they only get knocked down one or two spots, while other teams could lose in the same fashion to the same team and end up falling out of the top ten. I don't like the fact that we were potentially one or two more upsets away from them backing into the title game.
Saban might have the personality of cardboard, but when it comes to stuff like this, he's right. He's a football coach, ask him about football.
