Glennon had excellent high school highlight footage. They can be seen by googling Eddie Royal HS Highlights.

Similarly Mike Vick's high school WR looked amazing on film and was recruited (Andre Harrison - I think) and he never
made the dress squad.

It potentially cost a TD, though. That was a huge momentum killer after the onside kick recovery (is there a gif for that, btw?).

I lived in North Carolina before going to Tech. I almost had a job that would have allowed me to live where I wanted to, and was looking at houses in Blacksburg. Wish that held up...

Can't wait to read that piece! Hoping to sit down and study some of your articles one day. Might be when I retire, but hey holding onto hope is sometimes the only way to get through the day!

I feel like one thing VT can do well is recruit mobile QBs. I almost feel like the Auburn offense is the right offense for a school who thinks they will have a mobile QB 75% of the time with the other 25% them having a stud in pocket passer who is better than the mobile QBs on the roster. With SL on staff, I don't see why we couldn't incorporate more of these plays since he has good experience with them. It seems like the offense we're going back to the future with is what we had before with a mobile QB... this worked well but it seems like the weak spot was always dealing with the blitz... run blitz, pass blitz.... bring the house and we got pummeled... maybe a better OL would fix that I don't know. Anyway I don't see why we can't keep some of these veer and QB read plays in the book especially if they 1) allow the mobile QB to show some wheels, 2) keep the blitz off the QB and RBs, and 3) make the D defend the whole horizontal and vertical instead of a v with an occasional WR screen thrown in for DB meet OT meet DE in space type of fun.

Probably reasons why this is not viable, but I feel like we're going back to the future, but that past had serious flaws in it and we've got the guy to incorporate some misdirection to rebuild it all Steve Austin (Lee Majors) like.

small guy voice: what ya think dad? my idea is good right? LOL

It never once occured to me that Charlottesville was a "college town." I think this is the problem. A nice city/town by itself that happens to have a college in it is not a "college town" to me.

If your town would effectively cease to exist without the college, it's a "college town." Using the other definititon, New York, LA and Chicago are "College Towns."

To me a college town is Blackburg,VA State College, PA or Clemson, SC.

I get why it's a penalty, but I agree. Should have looked the other way. That said, I would have liked to see him just swat the ball away like the Mutombo commercial.

That's good to know, I guess I just kind of assumed. I would be fine with the peach - but I would absolutely prefer the Sun to the Russell. But I'm also not going either way. I can see where people who are going would prefer Orlando.

I guess I'm the only one who wants the Sun Bowl, oh well. I think it's a great, interesting, fun, and different match-up in UCLA. I'm of the opinion that's the point of bowls. It's also a good TV draw.

I don't know why, but I got the impression "ticket sales/ travelling fan base" doesn't really matter anymore. Schools have to guarantee to buy a bunch of tickets anyway. Like all of CFB now, it's all about the TV.

Peach would be nice, but it seems like a reach, it also seems like aTm would curb-stomp us...especially their D vs. our O. Another Tangerine bowl against a Big East Also-Ran? It was so much fun last year, who wouldn't want to do that again? Pass.

All my math turns up Sun.

Think we could get a second coming of that scenario with Facyson, Fuller, and _________?

I had never heard of such a thing. Got a link to a story? A quick Google search didn't turn anything up, but I'm also not trying very hard while at work.
