Realistically, I think Bama would beat OSU, Okie St, and Mizzou, you just can't put them ahead of an unbeaten team or the team that just beat aTm to play in the SECCG

Your scenario entails exactly why this system gets complicated. Is Ohio State in a power conference? I don't think it is anymore. It used to be, but now it's not. Now it's in a cupcake competition for power house of the Big 10.

So flying back to Alabama, the stewardess announced this on the plane as we were taxiing- needless to say there was a mixed reaction.
Then, driving home from the airport, I got to hear a replay of the game-ending call, and I happened to notice I was driving past a van covered in Alabama stickers, flags, etc. right as the radio guys are screaming "OH MY GOD" and "AUBURN'S GOING TO WIN THE FOOTBALL GAME," and so on.
I chuckled.
That's pretty much what I'm going with. Definitely with the first four. I'm struggling with #5. I kind of want to put Oklahoma State there, but I figure Alabama would probably beat them.
But, if the top two stumble, then a 11-1 champ from the Big 12 would stand to have a shot against the 12-1 SEC champ.
It's a slim chance, but the problem is that it's the 6th or 7th pick, depending on how many teams go to the BCS.
Here's the final records, with the two possibilities for the ACC champ teams:
1. Florida State 12-0 / 13-0 or 12-1
2. Duke 10-2 / 11-2 or 10-3
3. Clemson 10-2
4. Miami 9-3
5. Virginia Tech 8-4
6. Georgia Tech 7-5
7. Boston College 7-5
8. Maryland 7-5
As you can see, bowl #6 or 7 puts it in the range of the 7-5 teams. With the rule that bowls can pick within one game of the next available team, I don't see any of the bowls above Music City picking a 7-5 team over VT. I imagine we're a decent draw to the CFA, Russell Athletic, and Belk Bowls. I figure the Sun Bowl will just pick the highest available team since they're so far away geographically from the conference, and won't worry about the one game rule.
I still call it a slim chance, simply because the bowl organizers have been known to make some surprising decisions.

noooo like, honestly the only thing wrong with current system is because people want to put 1 loss teams above unbeatens. I think if you go undefeated in a major power conference you should get precedence over any other 1 loss team. You win you're in, you lose you're out, its simple but people want to try to over complicate it

I think if fsu has Winston they are the best team.in the country. I think a 1 loss SEC team is better than ohio state. mizzou or auburn should be over them cause of SOS being absolute crap. this is why I cant wait for the playoff system
