Ugh. Changes were made. The offensive staff, which is the side of the ball you seem to have a problem with, is almost completely new. These changes aren't instantaneous. You have to wait for results, I'm sorry.

fireman: are you kidding me? :19 seconds to go and we have the ball on our 20 or so yd line and you think 3 timeouts mean shit? TH13 is right .. a lot more probable that something goes very wrong in that scenario than very right. and if we had stopped them earlier .. we might've used the TOs when we were still on D. definitely the right game mgmt at the end of regulation ... and i don't usually defend CFB's game management

The greater than 2-way tie break is division record right? (This may be where I'm confused if this tie-break rule isn't true) As long as Duke drops one game they finish conference play at no better than 5-3. If we beat UVA we finish 5-3. GT is done and 5-3. We would be the only team of those three to lose one coastal division game. Maybe Miami wins out, best they can do is 5-3 with 2 coastal losses.

When has Bama made a schedule like that? They love to alternate "tough" games with cupcakes.

They followed Texas A&M with Mountain West Colorado state, Ole Miss with the winless Georgia State from the Sun Belt conference, LSU with the 4-6 Mississippi Sate team, then to prepare for Auburn they are playing the challenging Chattanooga Mocs from the FCS.

Tell me where exactly they have back-to-back challenges in that schedule.

PS: My ire isn't really directed at you - it's directed at teams like Alabama who can get away with a mediocre schedule because everyone's already sold on them winning the championship.

Not saying I would root against us, but us beating FSU wouldn't sit well with me, especially if OSU gets a MNC berth only to get annihilated. FSU is just stupid good and for us to beat them would almost be a fluke given what we've seen all season. I want Bama's dynasty talk over and the $EC perceived dominance gone and FSU has the best chance of doing that.

Wake is practically irrelevant because if Duke loses to them it still relies on other people losing to get us a tie breaking win, which I believe is due to Wake not being in the division. They would have to lose to UNC or the right combination of UVA-Miami and Miami-Pitt would have to shake out.

Do you happen to have a link? I'm having difficulty finding it. I understand how the UNC win could add an extra team to the tie-break but if I understand correctly a Duke loss in either game would produce at least a 3-way tie (With GT finished ACC play and 3 losses).

*Assumption of VT beating UVA of course

Well given that we're probably an average team and the status of teams we lost to:

Bama, 'nuff said
Duke, actually good
BC, not too shabby themselves
Maryland, started off hot got injured and now might be gaining steam

All those games were a toss up in my unbiased opinion. UVa is just a bad football team. If the defense can get a few turnovers or a score then I think it won't be that uncomfortable.

They might have pulled the same talent ratings (as in same number of stars) but they have a much more coherent group. They recruited like they had a plan.

This we did not do. Hence why we have so many players playing positions we didn't originally bring them in to play.

The first quarter was probably the best effort, and then it went all downhill from there. The lack of commitment to the running game is what bugs me the most.

French made an interesting observation on Twitter...he said something to the effect that throwing a touchdown pass after failing to punch it in on 1st down is a sign of "I Surrender." Oddly, against UNC, we saw Loeffler call the same running plays from the 1 four times before Edmunds burst through on the 4th tries. We haven't seen that jumbo package since then, except for Miami, maybe.

Dude, you better because now I'm going to be looking for you all game just so I can give you booze.

You make it sound like UMD made more plays, random event, normal variation in a statistical sense. That is not quite right. Sure they made more plays .. now why and how to fix just to take it at fait accompli ensures mediocrity.

FSU is the better team, by a lot, but upsets do happen. If Utah can beat Stanford, VT can beat FSU. That's why they play the games.

Not saying we will win, but any team with any kind if heart would rather be on this game than not be in it.

Philadelphia Eagles fan here. We are no good either, but at least the Cowboys still suck.
