I had heard he was going to schedule an official in December. Hopefully we get the last visit.
I was writing in hyperbole ..

You can pretty much use that transitive property to say that no one has beaten anyone. FSU has beaten everyone on their schedule incuding two top 10 at the time and top 15 currently teams. And they have pretty much demolished every one of them in doing so.
Who in the NCAA do you think FSU can not stack up against right now? From what I've seen they are hands-down the best team in the country.
When I read the title I thought this meant TKP staff and I was like JOE AND FRENCH DO NOT MAKE ERRORS
We'll know what's up by 2015. Whether these guys can get the job done or not will be clear.
WRT "fans patience." No one who matters cares what the fans think. The last 5-10 years should have made that abundantly clear.
I'd say it would be very unfortunate if Frank Beamer isn't allowed to at least fulfill his current contract. I want him to leave his position under the best of conditions.
They always remind me of 1998
Stanford has a top of the line offense.
They are ranked 31st in Yards Per Play and 19th in Points Per Play.
Total Offense and Scoring offense are all but useless metrics in determining offensive success. Oregon and Baylor both have top of the line offenses, as do Wisconin and Stanford. It has nothing to do with scheme, and everything to do with coaching and execution.
'Bejesus knocking'...
...that should be our football team's goal. On both sides of the ball. For all four quarters...
What he should have done was spent this season building a brand and, more importantly, an identity for the offense moving into next year.
I think this is what is the most disappointing part for me, personally. I sincerely thought this is what he was going to do. All indications from practices, scrimmages, and the spring game pointed to that much. Everything he said, all of his quotes pointed to that much.
But then this season started, and it was like none of that ever was said or happened. An admittedly very cynical me can only interpret what he's seeing now as "just do whatever you can to get Logan Thomas drafted as high as possible." Probably unfair, I freely admit, but I'm running out of other explanations. Because it's clearly *not* what we are going to be doing moving forward, and it's not what our brand is going to be, and it's not the kind of offensive identity you are going to see out of this team in the future.
So why do it? I don't know maybe the cupboard is so bare, and the surrounding cast is so bad that this was our only option. It doesn't feel that way to me when I watch games. It feels like, especially at this point in the season, the receivers have really progressed. It feels like when we actually do run actual designed runs they are effective and then we stop for no reason and just do the "read option" where LT just keeps it for the rest of the game.
I'm not a coach, I don't know, and I'm admittedly probably wrong in my interpretation. But I am disappointed in what I'm seeing for the most part, because I know it's not who we are.
To be fair, I am greatly encouraged by what I'm seeing in the design of the passing game. Everything that's happening out there makes sense. I can see what he's doing and he's usually springing guys open, even if the QB isn't always seeing them. It's so much better than the "just run 3 guys 20 yards deep, two in the same area for some reason and hope a completion happens" passing attacks we saw from his predecessor.
Note: in 2006 and 2007, we were ranked 90th and 82nd, respectively, in rushing offense.
2002 I believe was his first season. Those numbers in the early 2000's can be attributed to Kevin Rogers, the QB coach, which are the years we had solid QB play and good execution. O'Cain started 2006 as well as our offensive decline.
also in 2009-2011 we had an embarrassment of riches that could overcome scheme...and I think we see that in the trend...
RMWF, Darren Evans, DMFW, Coale and Boykin...and Tyrod was coming into his own (aka run around and make something happen).
Just a selfie I had laying around

That's just good hard-nosed, snot-bubble, football right there- Now that Stanford team, they'll really get after ya.
Wasn't Stiney OC starting in 2001?
I'm picturing all the TKP members in helmets, storming on to the field right now.
Which is strange, because I don't know what everyone looks like.
to me, bud foster is the only acceptable answer. he's paid his dues, passed opportunities, and is a dang good coach. if he doesnt get it, he should go to another acc school and beat our asses every year.
I'm saying 4 years.
Year 1: Complete transition year.
Year 2: Team should have a better idea of the system, but I don't think the players (specifically QBs) will be quite there. Most of the players these coaches recruited will be red shirting/true freshmen only good enough for limited playing time.
Year 3: Players chosen by these coaches will have one year in the system, but little game experience.
Year 4: Players chosen by these coaches will be upperclassmen and should understand the system and be able to execute and make plays.
2015 can be a special year with it probably being the last year of a Fuller and Fascyon as the best CB duo in CFB.
That in concert with the standard, excellent defense and 2 years of the new Offensive coaching staff and their implementation, that's the year I have circled on my calendar.
Total Offense - Since 2000 National Rank
2000: 20
2001: 64
2002: 64
2003: 38
2004: 65
2005: 57
2006: 99
2007: 100
2008: 103
2009: 50
2010: 41
2011: 35
2012: 81

I agree 100% with this post .. and I have questioned the selection of Thomas as the QB since day one. There is no doubt the guy wants to win (in fact he tries too hard, but that is a different subject). What I do not like is there are some out there who WANT Thomas to screw up and lose just so they can say I told you so. I hope he goes out there and burns it up with a 70% completion rate, and 500+ yards on offense.
