Afterwards, what I heard was it was a bad flag to begin with (uncatchable ball) that they used the review to overturn with the questionable tipping.
You beat me to it. That was Druck's year fo sho.
Ok, decent post, but who the f-k is "Gendon" and what are "wife outs"? Also, GLENNON did not lead us to the ACCCG. That was Glennon ALONG with T-Mobile and if you'll remember he was benched in favor of him after the '07 season.
ill buy the coaching, but I wont buy that he has nothing around him this yr argument. Like I said aside from the first 3 games or so the WR's have been open a lot.
BlameGlennon,
Yea logan said in an interview that he goes through his progressions entirely too fast. Especially in the duke game.
Then you have no idea how football works or are just plain oblivious. He's gone through progressions all year. Remember how excited everyone was when he got all the way to 5? Anyone who criticizes LT to the level I've seen on this board especially is clueless. No, he's not perfect, but this is ridiculous. So many Monday morning QBs here who think college football works just like it does on their X-box. The guy's had crap coaching for 4 years and now has absolutely nothing around him.
I will say this is the first yr he has had a legit qb coach to coach him up and fix his mechanics. And he has improved there. But he needs to improve his head before he can improve on the field. He has to see and he has to react in a timely manner on the field. He makes his reads late then has to throw a fastball to try to get it in there. Hes getting time in the pocket tho believe it or not. He just has to do it. But im gettn so pissed and frustrated with him
Dude get off your fucking high horse, almost every comment I've seen by you today has been derogatory to anyone who doesn't share your opinons. You keep claiming that anyone who criticizes LT clearly doesn't watch the games. Aside from missing Western Carolina this year for a wedding I've watched them all, and every other game he's played and I stand by my comments.
He is atrocious at progressing through receivers.
Danny Coale. That's all that needs to be written.
Also, when Danny & co. were freshmen, Tyrod had a TD:INT ratio of 2:7.
Man.....I hope the person who down voted this finds the results for a positive crab lice test in their wife's pocketbook.
Yeah but none of our QB's had 5 star receivers either. Danny Coale was a walk on too but Tyrod did just fine with him.
Hokiestud, you are on point with your comments! Completely agree. But does our lack of talent, our RB that trips over his own feet (which is sad because it has been very evident the last two games), and all the other very pertinent points not show an inconsistent and almost ill-coached effort from "top management'?
I think we have freshmen and red-shirt freshmen playing and contributing much more than we ever have, which to your point will only grow as the skill level gets better. But as the skill level gets better do we not fall back in to the same trap of masking our inefficiencies as a staff?
This is what happens when you don't recruit a fucking thing on one side of the ball for 3 years or so. You shouldn't have to rely on guys like Meyer to make the crucial late game catches because your best receiver, a walk-on himself, goes down with an injury. That cupboard is beyond bare.
What you just wrote is the exact opposite of how this team actually feels. How many times have we seen Logan completely put the team on his back and win it all by himself?
Clearly you haven't watched the games or listened to any interviews. That's been easily his biggest area of improvement this year. Mostly because he's finally in a system that's built on the QB having set reads/progressions to go through.
This is what I was trying to get at without having to look up the numbers
" I think he can be groomed into a great one because he has all the physical traits, but our coaching staff and system just couldn't get him there"
You hit the nail on the head. Maybe if SL and Grimes were here earlier things would be different, but it is what it is, and we can only hope for a bright future for him in the NFL
But...but...but. Drops? Bad routes? Bad Coaching? Whitfield? The tides? The uniform combos? Illuminati?
It's not his fault he threw across his body, off his back foot into triple coverage. It's not his fault he was carrying the football with one hand away from his body in the middle of the whole BC defense with the game on the line.
We just don't have the horses this year.
We used to be able to get out of games against teams like BC with easy wins because we were superior athletically. The talent just isn't there at the skill positions - WR and RB. We are the least explosive Ive seen us since 97-98. Watch the other top teams in the country and see some of the explosive playmakers they have. We're just very average right now. Good enough to make a bowl, but not good enough to make much noise.
The 6-3 record actually fits this team.
Its time to just enjoy this team for what it is.
Here's the problem with this game, it wasn't a game in which there were no turnovers and one would of made the difference. We gave up four possessions to their zero. The defense didn't get anything because BC wasn't going to let us. They scored 10 points off of less than 30 yards of offense in the third quarter. That means the offense basically gave them that many points. You can blame whoever you want for this loss, but it comes down to that we're not that good of a team this year and might not be next year until the ship is righted. Get over it, we're still better than half the teams in major CFB.
I was not going to comment on this thread, because at the end of the day it isn't constructive, but this post. Do you even watch the games??
You stated earlier if 'he would have just caught the ball he would have fallen in for a touchdown.' Well yes of course, because for him to catch the ball he had to jump like he was Michael Jordan!! I don't have to know anything about football to know you have to throw balls guys can catch! I'm sick of seeing wide open receivers jumping, diving, waiting or going to a knee to catch a ball that Logan throws!
You can talk all day about how inept our entire offense is, but it's honestly AMAZING what happens when players get the ball in their hands! This is the one thing I am tired of about Logan and everyone that wants to go hug him after a game and want to say 'always remember 2011'. HE CAN'T HIT HIS TARGETS!! For every 10 passes he throws, one hits them where it's supposed to..I am sick of seeing him play like a middle school QB and changing the channel and watching a FCS quarterback that compared to our QB looks like a hiesman winner.
Now go down vote me..
After watching us shit the bed for a second week in a row I think it is safe to say that we are not who we thought we were during the bye week two short weeks ago.
What did you think we were during the bye week? I for one thought we were an average, one dimensional team. We had a great defense and a bad offense only doing just enough. We beat some lower level teams and were 6-1. Guess what, we're not a team that can make it to Pasadena like lots of people were "discussing" during the bye.
We are a team that's rebuilding and correcting the issues from years past. Quite frankly, we're average and that's what we should of pegged ourselves in the preseason. The defenses dominance and a three game stretch of no offensive(pun intended) blunders gave some this false hope that we might be good. It's one fucking season in which we knew we wouldn't be world beaters, curtail you expectations of a national championship every year.
To a good home?
Yea I do think they are what help make our D top echelon. Without them, maybe top 10 or 15, but with them top 3 easy.

Please stop coming back to this one drop. One could argue LT threw it too hard. Fact of the matter is the blame is across the board, but please do not be blind that a nice size portion of this does fall in LT's lap. Bad games happen, but lets not mask a bad game.
He has to shoulder the load, we all know that, but sometimes that person fails. There were plays where he failed, period. Did it impact the game, yes. There were also plays where the D failed, did it impact the game, yes.
All in all, LT supporter or not he has struggled the past two games and does have the burden of shouldering some of the loss.
With that said, we ALL should hope that he, and the rest of the team AND coaching staff come with strong plans the rest of the year.
