but I was more perturbed with Bud switching to prevent those last 2 minutes.

From what I remember, Bud said that the defensive line lost contain, and it allowed Ryan to go "Happy Feet" and find his target, which was an incredibly lucky shot into the end zone.

The funny thing was, everybody was saying Boston College had the best offensive line, protecting Matt Ryan until Chris Ellis and his boys smacked the Eagles around silly. One of his best games, IIRC, but it was a gut-punch loss. Unfortunately, Glennon couldn't muster a game winning drive after the touchdown pass from Ryan.

One memory I have from that game is Matt Ryan puking on the field after his touchdown pass.

My favorite thing about the "put Leal in" crew (especially in the student section) is that half of them don't even know how to pronounce his name. One last week also yelled a complaint about being in the shotgun on third and 7, only for us to be lining up in the pistol...

I've chosen to remember nothing from that day. All the bourbon I drank made sure of it.

i have a feeling i might be a power voter. i'm pretty liberal with my upvotes, but i aint afraid to downvote either. sometimes i might challenge something someone said, but mostly i just go with the flow. i absolutely hate to see people arguing on here, but sometimes you get sucked in.

the way i see this community is like an extended group of friends. if you think about everyone in your various social circles there's gonna be different backgrounds, lifestyles, beliefs, interests, etc, but there's always some common thread that make you connect with one another. we have the hokies but there's something more going on here. intelligent, insightful, respectful conversations are certainly not the norm on most websites, much less a sports blog. sometimes i worry the more people find tkp and join in, the more it'll devolve into some tsl/andy bitter's comment section orgy of trolling and stupidity but i know those fears are unfounded.

i started lurking during the 2011 season, signed up in the aftermath of the sugar bowl, and havent looked back. the balance that is struck between the serious and not so serious coverage is remarkable. i learn about the game i love, and get a steady dose of lulz.

go hokies. tkp forever.

^ THIS.

Alternate unis are fun when they aren't overused. The Phillies have a cream number with a blue cap/red brim that is ONLY used for home day games. It's cool to see it. If we only wore orange jerseys when we played in the Orange Bowl, that would be a cool tradition. Making up reasons to wear garbage still makes the combos garbage.

Having returned both kicks and punts in high school (I know, different level) I can attest to their difficulty. Knowles looks like he has no idea what he is doing. Ideally, you catch the ball moving forward, cover as much ground before the coverage team gets there, then make a move. It seems to me that these guys are looking for a touchdown every time. That would be great, but not realistic. Give me Caleb, Mangus, and one other person a chance. Surprise me.

I believe it was actually Tyroh Tyrah Tyler if I'm not mistaken. At least it kept him from talking more about changing Skip's diapers or what his favorite baby food was. I remember I just kept hoping old Spittin' Lou would forget he was doing a game and wander back to his retirement community.

Great site, great stats. I know that I for one was not pleased after a few rum and cokes and saturdays loss. I don't believe I downvoted anyone, and happy to be posting to by far the best Hokie site out there.

I hope this guy figures out that UO gave him a (at least mostly, if not totally) free college degree. Kinda puts that whole "slavery" thing in perspective, in my mind. But I can understand his disappointment in the fan base, after encountering some less than intelligent, likely over-beveraged fans.

Why is big Beamer still the special teams coach? Notice the next time the other team punts: big spilts and a 3-man wall in front of the punter. VT? Everybody bungched together. Evolve.

Ha nice work guys. How about this one:

11. Logan changes the bulb after 4 guys drop one each, 5 guys can't get out of his way, and 1 guy trips over himself on the way.

How many students who work through college and pay for their education themselves also have spending money and don't come out with debt? Because I'm pretty sure that's next to no one. You can either take loans and have some "spending money" or put that spending money directly toward reducing the loans/debt you'll have later.

I've down voted many a time, but I can't recall ever down voting unless reasons. I've down voted negativity, vulgarity, classlessness, politics, chokies...the list goes on!

I'm actually kind of interested in seeing what my up/down vote ratio it.

My football IQ is certainly not in the same stratosphere as Bud and as per tradition had imbibed enough alcohol to kill an elephant, but it looked a lot like prevent to me.

I hate them because BC fans don't live up to the reputation of the university. Or so I've heard. Never been there myself

Yeah we dropped that game pretty hard. But Bud has been adamant for all time that there was no change to prevent.

I read it as BC HATE but after reading your post I thought BCH ATE SOME GRANOLA

No joke, every time I learn about a new college football player I rate him on his ability to play in the EastWest Bowl based solely on how unique his name is. Often, he qualifies.

Agreed. I could have sworn I saw back in the day ESPN had one of those competition shows where they brought in people who wanted to be sportscasters and put them through the ringer, and whoever won was given a chance to be a broadcaster. I only vaguely recall the series, but I did watch one episode where someone got kicked off the island solely due to the fact that they mispronounced someone's name. I think they called it an inexcusable mistake for a sportscaster to make, which makes me all the more confused that this guy made it to the booth.
