Frozen snow pellets often mixed with rain or snow. These were tiny, fine ice pellets dry to the bone. Sleet has a "wet" component due to the "mix of snow or rain.

This stuff didn't remind me of any sleet I've ever been in and I'm very happy it wasn't. We more than likely would have lost power earlier today.

Palisades is legit. They just celebrated their 17th year. The bar is over 150 yrs old. Menu is incredible farm to table w seasonal variations. Can't go wrong. Cool place.

Richmond VA, looks like the freezing rain ended up not being as bad as feared last check on Rappahannock electric they have 0 reported outages. Was nervous with all the forecasted ice but seems to have been a decent miss. That all said back roads in the country are bad sheets of ice.

I'm wfh so I don't really go anywhere the ebike can't get me in town. Roanoke isn't big enough for anywhere to be too far away, just some places aren't the easiest or safest to get to on the bike. I always joke that I would have been a menace if ebikes had been around when I was a kid.

nice. I basically traded the car for mine, but I needed a lightweight ebike because I have to carry it up a crap ton of stairs to get it in the house. I only have insurance on it for in-case I get hit by a car. It's a class 3 and written up as motorcycle insurance. I've put over 1k miles on mine so far.

Just about done here with the weather system in NOVA. The freezing rain never materialized and we've had wintery mix all afternoon. Things stayed extremely powdery until the afternoon when the sleet took over, which made things a bit harder to plow but definitely the better option to have to deal with.

Total accumulation was ~8"

I agree that the team is good. But hoping for an ACC tournament run to get into the Dance is NOT a good strategy. Playing basic basketball and winning those games that were blown in the final two minutes is what builds your resume to get you into the Dance before the ACC tourney. That's coaching.
We have ten games left. Probably need to win 7 or 8 of them, plus 1 or 2 in the ACC tournament to get on the bubble.

The men's team is good. They have a very versatile and complementing roster. It has enough depth and talent to perform well during injury misses from both Hanesberry and Lawal.

What infuriates me is when they go into stretches where they look to have forgotten how to play basic basketball and either get buried (Louisville) or lose size-able leads or blow it in the final 2 minutes, to allow teams to come back and win (we know who they are and it's too painful to notate).

We legitimately could be a 1 loss ACC conference play team right now. Legit!

If this team can get into a groove they have the players to make an ACC tourney run. Do this, and may well punch their ticket into the Dance

The Bay is flat out fucked. For whatever reason, nobody in power will do anything to stop Omega. Money talks I guess.

DC must be rolling in his grave

Lovettsville VA here.....snowfall 10+ inches. Not sure how much above that.. Earlier today, turned to a very dry frozen snow pellet. It is not accumulating on limbs or power lines. It is accumulating on the ground but blows around it's so dry. Thank goodness or fallen limbs and/or trees would have wreaked havoc on the overhead lines out here.

Cleared the 160 ft driveway once today. Will make another pass in the AM. Took the truck for a spin a few times. Main roads were/are being cleared and neighborhood roads a few passes. Some roads, especially unpaved roads, haven't been touched. Took the dogs around the property (6.6 acres) a few times. Put up wind guards (tarps) around the chicken coops in our chicken yard.

Started the fireplace fire around 8am. Still going strong.

When they first opened, we went there several times, and when I was guiding, it was a client dinner go to. Shana Muldoon always treated me like an old friend, the menu was interesting and eclectic. They also had chefs come in periodically for special dinners, if I remember right. In an old hardware store, it's a gem in Giles, for sure.
