I've noticed watching radar that storms we get in Chicago move east at a consistent rate then fade when they hit the mountains, but it's not clear where in the mountains they die. If you really want to learn about why, Ryan Hall Y'all or some other weather or geography YouTuber's probably have a video on it. Ryan Hall taught me to read tornado maps.
never fished for or caught them. sounds like some version of a double rig for speckled trout might work; or one of those tiny rat-l-traps or rapala minnows (if you could cast it far enough)
I've been seeing in a few places that a lot of models can't or just don't tell the difference between snow and sleet, which is why the estimates always start high.

Same for me when I biked to the grocery store today. It was about 6 degrees and flurries. I basically couldn't feel anything through my parka, upper body layers, 3 layers of long underwear plus khakis plus another layer of pants, ski mask, winter hat, ski helmet and goggles.
