Christiansburg report again. We have about 6" of snow and sleet. The amazing thing is, ive checked my app and watched the radar off n on all day waiting for the freezing rain to get here, and Bburg and Cburg have been blessed w a cold spot which has stayed blue and not gone pink on the rolling radar all day. I can verify as I was working on my and my neighbors driveways and walks. It has not rained at all. Amazing we got saved like that.
Have seen pics from Marion, VA and Nashville that are really bad.
We've been very lucky.
And this main round is ending in about an hour.
First white bass I ever caught was on a Little Cleo.
It's absolutely amazing,
Forecast for 16" here in Cincy and we probably have 10-12" so far. Light powder, easy to blow or shovel. Looks like it might be done snowing now. Went to the local hill, but sledding was tough because the kids didn't weigh enough to pack down some decent tracks.
I don't even pay insurance on my ebike. I got it on sale for about $1,000. Currently has 1,673 miles on it.
Still have a 4-6 hour window of freezing rain to pass through VA,NC til about 9/10 pm Sunday. This is the most likely time for any power outages to occur(along with the winds picking up overnight into Monday...
NC Triad is thankfully still just sleet. It keeps coming down, but is fine enough we are not seeing much build up. 2-3" where it's not drifting.
It would be hard to tow the boat, tractor, dump trailer, skid steer, etc with an ebike but it actually sounds nice.
We are doing Alaska Disney cruise this summer, ive heard great things and the in-laws are paying so yay!
Sold my car and bought a e-bike in Dec 2024. I figured if I could stand in Lane Stadium for 4 hours then a 30 min bike ride couldn't be any worse. Don't miss the costs for the car at all. Insurance on the bike went down this year too.
yeah, I don't what he could cast far enough from the bank to get beyond the locals...with a small enough profile that the fish would take it...that he could fish in the optimum part of the water column.
maybe something as simple as a spoon?
I sold my car a couple years ago, much easier to get around the city on my bike or transit. Plus saves me at least $500 a month. Grocery stores are pretty close to my house, so I don't miss the car at all even when it's 0 degrees outside.
Menhaden Commercial Over Harvesting - The Decades Long, Long Fight
Meanwhile, as of November 2025, the Atlantic States Marine Fisheries Commission's science teams acknowledged menhaden populations are imperiled and recommended greater than 50% reductions in harvest to protect menhaden and help prevent striped bass collapse. The Atlantic Commission ultimately voted for only a 20% coastwide reduction.
Check out the fish hatchery there at the dam. Impressive to the max.
Mathews on the Middle Peninsula here. We had a couple of inches or so last night, but the sleet started this morning. Lasted for a bit then turned to all rain as the temp went up to 33. Things will likely get ugly as temps go down, which they're predicted to do. No power loss yet, but I'm keeping my fingers crossed.
Its hard to say Dave Clawson was dirty, it would not be a shock, but he's not really on those other coaches level
My favorite part was Tennessee Basketball @ing his G League team that they were next.
Very true, but its not only DEFCON-1 from the University side.
The Players ( particularly the higher compensated ones) don't want collective bargaining and enforceable contracts anymore than a University Board does.
Do you think Carson Beck, Mensah, or Darien Williams want to collectively bargain when they can essentially just do as they please?
Is it in their interest to collectively bargain with a 3rd string MLB or Punter?
You can look at the recent dysfunction and corruption in the MLBPA and NFLPA to see how united and collaborative Athletes can be.
What IMHO should happen is an entity--The NCAA or a new one--given an Antitrust exemption and allowed to create actual Regulations. Until then, stupid crap like this will continue to happen and probably only get worse.
For cruise locations:
-I love Turks and Caicos the most. We did a Catamaran snorkeling tour that also stopped at a local, secluded beach. 10/10 would recommend that.
-Bimini is nice but very small. Stunning beaches and water. Rent a cheap golf cart ($100 max for the day) and do a self guided tour, there's local restaurants and bars all along the only road on the island that serve great, fresh conch fritters.
-Our favorite port so far is Taino Bay in the DR. Shops are more than just the usual tourist traps imo, several bars that serve Mamajuana shots, a lazy river that's included and very large. We booked a resort pass and enjoyed it but wouldn't do it again. We'd either do a tour through Puerto Plata, go up into the mountains for the waterfall tour or stay in Taino Bay and drink in the lazy river.
We spent a week in Aruba a few years ago and that's been our favorite island to date. I don't know what it's like as a cruise stop but I can't imagine being disappointed!
Alaska is very, very high on my list of cruises to do. I would love to do Antarctica too but not sure my seasickness could handle the Drake Passage.
Checking in from Midlothian, VA down by the Swift Creek Reservoir... pretty disappointing accumulation for the elementary schoolers in my house who just want to sled. Apple weather says we've received 11" of precipitation in the last 24 hours, but there is only 2-3" on hard surfaces and less in the grass (can still see the tips). Crystalline heavy heart attack snow with wintery mix continuing throughout the afternoon. Stay safe, Hokies!
Check the drain nut on the bottom of the carb bowl. Could be a little loose or gasket may be bad. Also check tubing which sometimes dries out and cracks at one of the conmections. Sometimes you can cut off the cracked end and reattach if theres enough slack. In any case, if it's still leaking I'd put it out outside. Tarp it if you have too but dont leave it in the garage if it's dripping gas. Fumes are no joke and can ignite. I'm sure HokieFireman would agree. Best of luck and be safe!
Edit- just remembered it could be a stuck float in the carb as well causing it to leak out the vent hole. Tilt the blower and bang back down a bunch of times and see if that stops it.
Coaches have left the game in recent years---Krzyzewski Roy Williams, Dave Clawson, Bennett, and even Saban. They weren't perfect but they stood for something
With all due respect, they were all dirty, they just made sure they had enough plausible deniability to avoid punishment and ensured there was a fall guy in case that went wrong.
The coaches nowadays know the NCAA is so feckless they don't have to even pretend to care anymore
Most of those things (if not all) will require collective bargaining, which requires employment.
And employment is DEFCON-1 in college athletics circles.

Overly controlled by commercial interests, the Commission again weenies out of making a real effort to help the situation. Thing is, we need someone with some real power to step in on behalf of the Bay, but it hasn't happened yet and the payoffs from Omega are still talking louder than anyone else involved, I believe.
